“Mountainwood Homes performed magic on our 1986 galley kitchen. On Joel's first visit, he saw what the other contractors missed: what we thought was a bearing wall was only holding up the balcony. Reducing the size of this underused space allowed expansion of the kitchen below and removal of an unnecessary hallway. The dated drop ceiling and recessed light panel were replaced with a vaulted ceiling and hanging track lighting. Even though the original attic space above the range had access to the roof, the hood was not vented. The old electric range had a downdraft that never worked well and a small oven. The new kitchen sports an island gas cooktop, overhead vent with a chimney extending up through the vaulted ceiling, and a 30" wall convection oven. Heather provided great design with granite, backsplash, paint, and fixtures. Cabinetry by Cutting Edge was a perfect fit. We also extended the hardwood flooring into the dining room. The Mountainwood team was flexible as changes were needed, finished the project on time and produced great results.”

“The team at Master Builder did a great job and were extremely professional. We hired them to remodel our all our baths and kitchen. The work included new tile, new cabinets and new bathtub installation. The kitchen included new design with all things installed. They outsourced some of the plumbing but performed most of the work themselves. They are detail oriented and left a clean work area each evening. They used the garage for their shop throughout the remodel and it worked fine. They also bring a trailer with an impressive array of professional tools. Everyone listened to our questions and suggestions. They were fair about changes or mistakes which happens with any large jobs. My only recommendation is to get clear understanding of the type and frequency of communication you want to receive. I like emails answered in 24 hours and had to learn that isn't their style so if I didn't get a response in 48 I'd email back with an ETA for the response otherwise we were very happy. They were always prompt and arrived when scheduled. This is a great team to work with and I'm confident we'll have them do more work in the next few years.”

“Last fall, we took on our first remodel project (master bath) and hired Kathie Maughan to work with us on the project. While we had the choice of just having her do a design for us, we knew we wanted the added comfort of having her handle all the details, and had her manage the project as well. This was a really good decision. Kathie made sure we felt comfortable with every phase of the project and worked hard at correcting any issues that came up. She checked in almost every day and was always available to answer my questions (even on a Saturday at one point). But beyond the pleasure of working with Kathie, is the pleasure of working with her wonderfully conscientious crew. They answered questions, explained processes and were unfailingly friendly and courteous. This is a great bunch of people to have come into your home and leave a beautiful space behind.
