I hired Josh and crew this fall for exterior painting and repair of my nearly 50 year old home. They worked very hard and very long hours to fit me in and finish before the weather change.There was minimal disruption and stress and they kept me apprised ahead of what they were doing plus did a very careful cleanup. The house looks very nice and they were pretty good guys to have around.

Josh did standard work overall on our project. I think their command of the engineering and construction was great, but the design and follow through was sometimes lacking. Here are some examples - New cement work on porch of addition has stains in the cement due to lack of proper sealing - Pocket door installed incorrectly and is scratched/not moving smoothly - Missing hardware for master bedroom window has never been delivered after multiple (6) follow up emails stating they would drop off or deliver the hardware but they never did. - Decisions were made outside of consultation with homeowner, leading to higher costs - 3' of construction debris was leftover in our backyard. Overall the work was acceptable but the follow through and communication was lacking.

Great craftsmanship and attention to details. Extremely honest and fair. Pleasure to work with on a full home renovation. I would highly recommend Master Builder!

We hired Josh to do a complete remodel of our Master Bath. This entailed a complete overhaul of our bathroom, including vaulting the ceiling, tearing down a wall and removing an old fiberglass shower. The results are sturnning! We now have a beautiful, glass enclosed curbless shower, freestanding tub, floating walnut cabinet, and heated tile floor, which we love. Josh and his team did an excellent job. We highly recommend their work.

Josh and his crew extensively remodeled my 1970's "midcentury modern" kitchen/laundry, and updated the ceilings and floors in the adjoining rooms. The goal was to update the house and to make it more livable for me with my physical limitations. Throughout this project the crew did beautiful work, kept the house livable for me (!!), and were extremely pleasant to have in my house. There were no loud radios, or noise other than construction sounds. I was kept informed (and brought into the discussion) of any changes that needed to be made. Winter weather made the project take a few days longer than projected. They kept me informed with text messages of arrivals, etc. I made a few choices that increased the total price, but the job would have come in on budget if I hadn't changed my mind and decided to upgrade from the original plan. The final project is absolutely beautiful. . Excellent workmanship throughout. Cabinets are gorgeous, and the inserts to adapt them for me are amazing. The living area of my house is now all on one level. Living in a house that is being remodeled is never easy, but they were accommodating to my needs and very easy to work with. We are already making plans for my next project.

After meeting with several contractors we chose Master Builder for our project due to Josh's thorough, detailed bid, and his insight on how to convert a Jack & Jill/ Hollywood style bath into two separate baths (one contractor told us it wasn't possible!). Additionally we requested an update of a small powder/laundry room to give us room for a stacking washer/dryer and extra storage. Again, Josh had great ideas about how to work with a challenging space. Once the work started we were so impressed with Josh and his team that we expanded the scope of our project to include new flooring and carpets, new doors (including front door) and trim throughout the space, and an update of our fireplace facade and mantel. Josh and his crew made the challenges of remodeling much easier. His partner Merissa offered great design suggestions and was instrumental in helping choose materials. Everyone on his crew was friendly, courteous, and professional. They were very conscientious about keeping their work area organized during the day and making sure everything was clean before they left each night. A special mention goes to Andrew. He took point on our project and made sure everything was going smoothly while giving us daily communication about what had been done and what to expect next. We were new to the "remodeling process" so that was much appreciated! Overall we were very pleased with the service we received and the end result of the project(s). As with any major undertaking some small issues arose along the way but these were always addressed quickly and courteously by Josh, Andrew, or another member of the crew. Our project(s) were completed in a timely manner in spite of the fact that we added numerous requests to the original bid. Josh was great about keeping us up to date on our budget so there were no unpleasant surprises at the end. We highly recommend Master Builder. Their work is excellent from a technical standpoint and, as previously mentioned, the whole crew is fun, yet thorough and professional. We hope to have them back in the spring to complete exterior updates to our space.

Josh did an amazing job on our kitchen remodel. My wife and i came to him with a tight timeline and even tighter budget, and to top it all off were coordinating the project from 1,000 miles away. There were stumbles along the way, as always happens with remodels, but Josh took them all in stride. He finished a little past the deadline (due to things out of his control) and a little under budget. Overall we were very happy with the process and really love our new kitchen. I highly recommend working with Master Builder. We are currently planning another project with Josh and can't wait to get started

We hired Josh to do a full kitchen remodel, which including opening up a wall and vaulting our ceiling. Also refinished our hardwood floor throughout the house and laid new hardwood in the kitchen to tie it all together. We were impressed with Josh's knowledge, professionalism, and great ideas! He guided us through the whole process, and steered us toward some great vendors for cabinets/counters/tile/etc. The work and attention to detail were excellent and exceeded out expectations. Would recommend highly, and I'm sure we will be using Josh again on our next project.

Master Builder was terrific. I had a serious problem concerning the back of my house ( 3 stories high). Without going into a lot of detail they helped me find the problem , make a good plan and set a time table. As long as they were doing this I added a few things. The outcome is wonderful. They bent over backwards to make sure we were pleased.

We've had Josh and his crew complete 3 very large, high end and extensive remodels. Mater Builder is exceptional in their ability to make the necessary decisions to keep jobs moving forward on time and on budget. Their quality of work is amongst the best we've used and we are proud to have clients tour our properties after they're done.

I have had the pleasure of working with the Master Builder, Josh on a number of projects. As a photographer, when I look through my camera, I see the craftsmanship that has gone into the project. From aesthetic standpoint, the materials used and the way they are implemented adds to a cohesive feel to the whole build. I see the attention to detail that has gone into the completion of the build. Project after project I see his design style, whether its is the construction of a full home or a bathroom remodel. I highly recommend MasterBuilder and Josh Anderson for your construction needs. He brings a great mind for design and economy to a project. The work is top notch. His team of employees and subcontractors are superb. Our project had initial permitting issues. Several other contractors were unwilling to dig into this problem, leaving us without a solution. Josh rolled up his sleeves to work with the City of Portland and solved what needed to be done. We hope to have another project in a couple of years and look forward to re-engaging MasterBuilder.
