Cross cut travertine tiles give this gas fireplace an unusual look that pops off the dark walls. The ottomans tuck under the coffee table but can be pulled out for additional seating or foot rests.

The sunken den, off of the foyer, receives abundant light from a bank of windows. This portion of the home was added on in 1968 after the original owners requested more space to accommodate their growing family.
Bobbie found the 1950's sofa second-hand for $10, and had it reupholstered. She chose Crypton fabric as a means to save the sofa from the cats' claws, which means that not only will the style remain timeless, but the sofa itself will always look like new.

This award-winning and intimate cottage was rebuilt on the site of a deteriorating outbuilding. Doubling as a custom jewelry studio and guest retreat, the cottage’s timeless design was inspired by old National Parks rough-stone shelters that the owners had fallen in love with. A single living space boasts custom built-ins for jewelry work, a Murphy bed for overnight guests, and a stone fireplace for warmth and relaxation. A cozy loft nestles behind rustic timber trusses above. Expansive sliding glass doors open to an outdoor living terrace overlooking a serene wooded meadow.

I was called into this home to re-decorate for the new owners. Although they loved the finishes that already existed in the home - floor stain, wall and ceiling colors, window treatments, there were a few things that didn't work for their family that needed to be changed. In addition, they needed all new furniture to fill this house that would reflect the coastal location, but remain traditional in style. I accomplished this with the exception of one surprise space!

This elegant expression of a modern Colorado style home combines a rustic regional exterior with a refined contemporary interior. The client's private art collection is embraced by a combination of modern steel trusses, stonework and traditional timber beams. Generous expanses of glass allow for view corridors of the mountains to the west, open space wetlands towards the south and the adjacent horse pasture on the east.

We moved away from our usual light, airy aesthetic toward the dark and dramatic in this formal living and dining space located in a spacious home in Vancouver's affluent West Side neighborhood. Deep navy blue, gold and dark warm woods make for a rich scheme that perfectly suits this well appointed home. Interior Design by Lori Steeves of Simply Home Decorating. The cantilevered living room of this incredible mid century modern home still features the original wood wall paneling and brick floors. We were so fortunate to have these amazing original features to work with. Our design team brought in a new modern light fixture, MCM furnishings, lamps and accessories. We utilized the client's existing rug and pulled our room's inspiration colors from it. Bright citron yellow accents add a punch of color to the room. The surrounding built-in bookcases are also original to the room.
