The distinctive design is reflective of the corner block position and the need for the prevailing views. A steel portal frame allowed the build to progress quickly once the excavations and slab was prepared. An important component was the large commercial windows and connection details were vital along with the fixings of the striking Corten cladding. Given the feature Porte Cochere, Entry Bridge, main deck and horizon pool, the external design was to feature exceptional timber work, stone and other natural materials to blend into the landscape. Internally, the first amongst many eye grabbing features is the polished concrete floor. This then moves through to magnificent open kitchen with its sleek design utilising space and allowing for functionality. Floor to ceiling double glazed windows along with clerestory highlight glazing accentuates the openness via outstanding natural light. Appointments to ensuite, bathrooms and powder rooms mean that expansive bedrooms are serviced to the highest quality. The integration of all these features means that from all areas of the home, the exceptional outdoor locales are experienced on every level

We took a beautiful but dated Spanish style home and created a California Spanish Ranch feel. We refinished their honey oak to provincial, repaired all the cracks and painted a warm white, replaced all of their lighting, added Stikwood and Onyx to highlight the fireplace, mounted and added new electrical for their TV and components, installed an electric fireplace, hand crafted wrought iron curtain rods, installed a 1890's barn gate with barn door hardware, and installed many custom furniture pieces.

Foyer. Carrying the main vault from the Entry, through the Foyer and Great Room and ending at the Rear Terrace, ties the design together giving a flow from front to back. The Foyer is not much more than an extension of the Great Room to save on space to use in other areas of the home. Short hallways run directly off the Foyer to the Guest Suite and utility rooms/areas adjacent to the Garage.

Nelson Construction & Renovations, Inc.Nelson Construction & Renovations, Inc.
This home was stuck in the 1980's, with an overhead walkway running right through the middle of the living room. The lines throughout the home were rounded with a heavy Greek influence - for instance, the dining space on the left was formerly a raised, rounded dais complete with Greek columns. After re-designing the space to make it transition from a traditional to modern style, we completely gutted the home and remodeled it from top to bottom. Part of the project included the construction of a set of modern stairs to replace the walkway that led from the upstairs master bedroom (left) to the guest bedroom (right). The result is a much more open space, with cleaner, more unified flow lines. We also installed new Origin Doors to lead to the pool overlooking the Intracoastal. Wooden Classicism Nesbitt House – Seaside, Florida Architect: Robert A. M. Stern Builder: O.B. Laurent Construction E. F. San Juan produced all of the interior and exterior millwork for this elegantly designed residence in the influential New Urban town of Seaside, Florida. Challenges: The beachfront residence required adherence to the area’s strict building code requirements, creating a unique profile for the compact layout of each room. Each room was also designed with all-wood walls and ceilings, which meant there was a lot of custom millwork! Solution: Unlike many homes where the same molding and paneling profiles are repeated throughout each room, this home featured a unique profile for each space. The effort was laborious—our team at E. F. San Juan created tools for each of these specific jobs. “The project required over four hundred man-hours of knife-grinding just to produce the tools,” says Edward San Juan. “Organization and scheduling were critical in this project because so many parts were required to complete each room.” The long hours and hard work allowed us to take the compacted plan and create the feel of an open, airy American beach house with the influence of 1930s Swedish classicism. The ceiling and walls in each room are paneled, giving them an elongated look to open up the space. The enticing, simplified wooden classicism style seamlessly complements the sweeping vistas and surrounding natural beauty along the Gulf of Mexico. --- Photography by Steven Mangum – STM Photography
