“Mrs. Anjali had created a unique design for our front yard. She worked diligently with us every step of this project because we did not know what we want, what would be appropriate for our climate zone and our particular location. She was very patient, understanding and kind. We appreciated that! She explained thoroughly the ins and outs of this project. We were particularly impressed with her knowlege of plants and flowers, it was fun to work with her. Our front yard has been outgrowing and was not taken care of for years. Mrs. Anjali turned it into a beautiful shrubs and flower bed. She took out some old bushes and trees, kept our favorite Japanese maple (which one couldn't even see) and incorporated it into her design. And we loved the choice of shrubs and flowers she made! One more thing to add --- she managed to stay on budget! She is a very resourceful designer.”

Ms. Pantoja, head architect, worked with us closely to develop the plans, taking into consideration our wants, desires, and budget. He incorporated our original thoughts into a cohesive new design which fit seamlessly with our house and into our wooded surroundings. “I hired JM Mento for essentially a full backyard remodel - including hardscaping, grading, and drainage for my backyard. Joe was tremendous to work with. He was the first of the companies that I reached out to to respond and came out promptly to survey the site. He walked me through his vision for the yard and I could immediately tell he was well experienced in the business. He had a quote prepared the next morning and answered all of my questions (I had SO many) in a timely manner. Joe provided multiple options in the quote to ensure I could adjust as needed to meet my budget. The entire job (large patio, stump and large rock removal, grading and significant drainage to divert water from the back to front yard) was completed in the span of 5 days. “Rutland Nurseries completed 2 projects for us, 2 walkways and an enclosed patio with a rounded sitting wall (Unilock®). There were many positives to having work done by the crew from Rutland Nurseries, among them are: Andy was the designer and supervisor of both projects. He was very easy to work with and patient throughout the planning process. He made suggestions but did not force his opinions on us. He was present almost daily throughout the projects. In addition, the workers arrived on time each morning and came daily until the project was completed. They were respectful of our property and the neighbor’s yard as well. At the end of each day their materials and tools were stored. The workers were personable and had Rutland Nurseries logos on their shirts. We are extremely happy with the work that was completed and would highly recommend Rutland Nurseries if you are thinking of walkways or patios!”

“In January 2015 Michael White of Continuum Landscape Architects generously agreed to advise us on a PTA project to create a school garden. Not just a few beds for flowers and vegetables, but a dedicated outdoor space for educational use designed specifically to tie in with the elementary curriculum. Our committee had ideas from teachers and a concept design, but little idea how to get from paper to installation. Michael's expertise was invaluable. He addressed technical considerations and hardscape specifications, and estimated costs for materials and installation. Undeterred by our tiny budget, he provided beautiful plan and perspective drawings that helped us present our project to local landscape companies to solicit contributions of labor or materials. When at last we had the funding and other support to proceed, he essentially served as project manager, advising us frequently on materials, quantities, and work flow. In April 2015 Michael directed the hardscape installation work of a young team of Horticulture & Landscape students from the Minuteman High School, coming daily to mark out areas and make suggestions. His collaborative and encouraging manner throughout made the students feel like the experts! Michael was extraordinarily generous with his time. He attended two evening PTA meetings to present the garden project, and joined us for the Garden Classroom opening ceremony in June 2015 and a couple garden events at the school in the fall. We are extremely grateful for all of Michael's steadfast support, expertise, time, and enthusiasm. We could not have accomplished this ambitious school garden project without him.
