“Recently I purchased my first apartment with my boyfriend. Because I had never decorated my own place before I was very confused with colour choices and on what wall each colour should be on. Lori was beyond the most helpful, patient and knowledgeable interior decorate I have ever come across. She explained to me how the sun can come in at certain angles making the colour choices I picked looking very different than the colour samples. Because of her she made our apartment feel like a home rather than a stepping stone till our next place. I couldn’t have done it without her help!”

“Terrific from start to finish! HFD was able to able to update our tired kitchen and family room. Made it beautiful as well as functional (I Love to cook and finally have a kitchen that "works"!) Lots of options in terms of pricing - Alicia always presented 3-4 possibilities for each piece we bought that covered a range in pricing. She was professional and knowledgeable and frankly easy to communicate with. She is connected with some terrific suppliers - we got the stone that everyone else wanted!!!! She has great vision and can make it happen!”

“Natalie Froom handled the entire project with care and with knowledge that helped us have two extremely well designed and most functional lovely bathrooms in all aspects. “Jane is intuitive and clever, never cocky or snobby -she works with real people and budgets and the results are always spectacular. I'm an ex-coworker, I guess, I worked with Jane as the producer of her show, "Colour Confidential". We produced 26 episodes together. Jane was a dream to work with from a TV producing perspective, 'we' transformed over fifty rooms from bare bones to completely decorated- on extremely limited budgets! I LOVED that job -got a design 'fix' everyday! Jane is a colour expert and since the show finished she continues to amaze me with her excellent work with clients, the launch of her own furniture line and her tireless work at Home Shows and designing entire high end model homes for Ontario companies like Kylemore. Jane even won the Pinnacle award and 1st place in the Large Kitchen category at the NKBA Awards in 2011. I know I sound like a commercial but I'm really a big fan. She deserves the recognition and she won't blow her own horn!”

“I have had the pleasure of working with LDR Designs on multiple projects over the past 3 years. I would highly recommend Linda DeRuiter and LDR Deisgns to anyone needing a design firm for major projects and smaller design projects. In our previous home LDR Designs gutted our kitchen and main bathroom. The end result was well designed, beautiful and functional. Our most recent project was in our new home. LDR Designs gutted our basement, dug down, installed radiant heating, gutted the basement bathroom and laundry room and then finished with new storage, cabinets and lovely finishes throughout. We are thrilled with the end result. LDR Designs also gutted the master bath and redesigned a 2nd floor bedroom for more space and storage. We are delighted with results and will continue to work with LDR Designs on future projects.”

“We worked with Parkyn Design on our new home build. Soon after our architectural plans were done, we got Tania Parkyn and her team involved in the process. This timing was paramount to them understanding our big vision. Three things stand out from our work with Parkyn Design. First, one of the biggest strengths Tania demonstrated was her ability to really listen and understand what we wanted. She really did hear everything we said: our ideas, our dreams, our likes, our dislikes. We saw proof of this in the end results when our home seemed to fit us like a glove. Second, Tania’s experience ensured that our home would be timeless, yet incredibly unique and personal to us. Because Parkyn Design is current with trends and ahead of the curve on what’s coming, we were introduced to new products and materials which made the choices for everything both practical and leading edge. Finally, as first time homebuilders, the process of building, designing and decorating a home can be very intimidating. Parkyn Design made this process fun and enjoyable. Tania and her team brought such excitement and passion to our job! Sometimes it was hard to tell who was more excited - them or us! Overall, this is a top-notch design studio. “We purchased a 60 year old home and hired Diana to assist with updating the inside of the home. She assisted with structural changes and colour and style selections. I was able to communicate to her the style that I wanted and she was able to make those visions come to life. For example, I wanted an open concept kitchen and she was able to determine where all the appliances and cabinets would be placed once the main kitchen wall was demolished. Her colour selections, tile styles and cabinet styles for all three washrooms and laundry room were perfect. She also respected my opinion. For example, I wasn't too enthusiastic about the colour selections for the wall surrounding the fireplace, Diana could sense that and immediately pulled out a different colour selection based on my feedback and I fell in love with the colours. She also gives honest feedback. She pointed out to me immediately if I was gravitating towards a selection that was a 'fad' and not 'timeless. I would definitely hire her again for future projects. I have absolutely no regrets about any of the decisions made, and that is 100% because we had Diana as our designer. Thank You.”
