We had a wonderful experience working with Sarah to redo a bedroom that my pre-teen daughters share. We knew that we needed to have a space that would be playful for their current ages (12 and 10) but also still be cool as they go into their teens. It also needed to be functional as a potential place to do homework (or remote school). We had challenging 10'X11' space with a radiator in one corner and a bump-out in the middle of one wall. Sarah asked my daughters and me what we wanted and wished for the updated space. I really appreciated how Sarah came to each of our consultation meetings prepared with options and examples for us to discuss what we liked and didn't like. From there, she pulled together a final vision to check in with us once more before proceeding. Most importantly, we are thrilled with the results! Sarah provided a proposal after an initial consultation discussion and my sending over some pictures of the room and a floor plan. I really appreciated the breakdown in her proposal of the likely range of costs between design, furniture and material costs, and the labour costs to set up/build. Since we did not have a strict time constraint, we were ok that project took several sessions due to the lengthier delivery times. I found the whole process not as stressful as it could be, given that this was all done during the constraints of COVID-19 in 2020. Thanks Sarah!

So in the middle of a pandemic I grew tired of my living room, as a lot of people who were stuck at home probably did. I contacted Sarah at High Street Design for advice knowing that she would be unable to come into my home under the circumstances. I sent Sarah several photos of my room, including the sofa, curtains, rug, chairs and overall decor. After some back and forth to ensure she got the whole picture Sarah sent me a detailed portfolio of suggestions for my room including several options for sofas, chairs, material for recovering, rugs, lamps and even summer/winter pillows. She had thoughtfully considered my personal style and budget and came up with a plan that gave me the direction I desperately needed. I was very impressed! Sarah was lovely and very easy to work with. She has a very non-intimidating manner and is eager to please her clients. We are still in the pandemic but at least I am happy with my living room courtesy of High Street Design!

Sarah is a pleasure to work with through all stages of a design project. I hired Sarah at the beginning of 2020 to do a significant renovation of my condo to modernize the space and make it my own. The reno expanded the ensuite bathroom including replacing the tub with a walk in shower, removed the wall between the den & living room, new kitchen, updated powder room, updated lighting, new flooring and paint/wallpaper through out. From the start, she listened to my wish list and ideas to put together a cohesive plan for across every room. From start to finish, she was on top of all the details, deadlines, and decisions so it was as easy process for me. Her subcontractors are also great with excellent attention to detail. As well, Sarah helped me find new furniture for my living space, which now looks like an adult lives here. I am beyond thrilled with the final result!

I cannot say enough good things about High Street Design and Sarah Broderick, who is a joy to work with. Our project was less than a total renovation, as we wanted to maintain many of the existing materials in our condo bathrooms while updating and replacing some elements (e.g. the cabinetry.) Sarah worked with us from start to finish and the results are amazing. From recommending paint colours to sourcing accessories, she has great attention to detail and a real gift for anticipating and understanding what her clients will like and what they will not like. Her sub-contractors are also terrific and she is a great project manager. Her fees are reasonable and the value for cost is excellent. I strongly recommend High Street Design and plan to work with them again in the near future.

Sarah is great to work with. She listens so she can be of assistance with what you need most. For me is was being overwhelmed with where to start for a master bath and living room redo so that the choices you make early on complement the later decisions. She is very professional and was a very calming influence on the process, so once I made my choices I was not second guessing and driving myself crazy :) She knows some great tradespeople which has also very helpful, and she is very organized staying on top of dates and commitments, measurements and placing orders so that all of the materials are available when the workmen are ready. I also appreciate her troubleshooting and problem solving ability as things get discovered behind the walls and a pivot is necessary, she was very adept at making suggestions that addressed issues without causing the whole project to balloon.

I hired Sarah to help with a full condo renovation in the summer of 2019 that included a complete bathroom renovation, re-configuring my living room and kitchen, new paint throughout the whole unit. Sarah was very responsible and a pleasure to work with. We downsized from a larger traditional style home to a new more modern and very open concept type home in Cobourg Ontario. The new place was quite nice but still had basic builder’s standards throughout in regards to cabinetry, counter tops and wall colours. Also, we could see where some of our old furniture would fit and some wouldn’t. Sarah helped up a great deal by first suggesting wall colours that would flow throughout the space. She then advised us on improvements that could be brought to the kitchen cabinetry and upgrades to the counter top. Sarah also suggested that we paint some of our existing pine furniture since we were not ready to give all our old stuff up yet! We found Sarah very flexible and enthusiastic while working with us to find the right solutions. We are very happy with the results in our new home and highly recommend her.

Sarah helped me clarify my style. She took the time to understand what I like and what kind of home I want to live in. She helped me plan some home improvements that enhanced both resale value and the quality of my life. This included bathroom renovations, as well as updating my space with new paint, furnishings and fixtures while reusing most of my existing furniture. More importantly, she arranged for an excellent contractor and painter to execute my home renovations on time and reasonably on budget. The place looks great. On the down side, I have no renovation horror stories to tell at cocktail parties. :-)

We hired Sarah to refresh and renovate the common areas of our 1980s-era downtown condo -- living room, dining room, sunroom, and powder room. The renovations needed to be done over a two-week period while we were on vacation. She managed the project admirably, overseeing tiling, drywalling, popcorn ceiling removal, potlight installation, and painting. Sarah was also great at finding the right pieces for our space. And she was mindful of our budget when things got a little tight. Highly recommend -- hard worker and reliable.

The process of working with Sarah is very collaborative. She identifies what's important to you, what your dreams and wishes are for your home. We had lived in our house for over a decade when we finally decided to overhaul our basement bathroom. The bathroom had been hastily installed by previous owners and looked like something out of horror film. We never used it, and would never have subjected anyone else to using it either. By some miracle. Sarah was totally game for taking on the challenge of transforming this nightmare into something beautiful without it costing an obscene amount. She was completely attuned to our style, and created a design that fit with us, our house, and our budget. She took great care of us along the way and made sure that we were comfortable with every step of the project. In the end, we have a finished bathroom, a finished hallway that leads to the bathroom and is separated from the rest of the basement, an open and beautiful staircase down to the bathroom, and a fabulous brick wall that looks like it was always part of the house. We feel incredibly lucky that we get to live here, and we can't wait to work with Sarah on our next project!

We contracted with Sarah Broderick of High Street Design to renovate our one-bedroom apartment at Harbour Square, Toronto in May 2017. We had rented out the apartment for almost 40 years and it was in its original state. A realtor who appraised the property advised us it would be difficult to find a renovator and contractor to do such a major refit as everyone was booked for the season by May. To complicate matters, we lived in Kingston and were not on site to plan and oversee any of the work. Enter Sarah B. We read her bio on Houzz and contacted her to see if she was interested in tackling this sizable job. She came immediately accompanied by her contractor, listened to what we needed done, proposed a plan, had her contractor provide a quote and references, and away she went. She supervised the entire job, sent us by email ideas, suggestions, samples and prices, sourced and purchased furniture, lighting, appliances, the whole works. She was on top of the contractor who basically gutted the place and then put it back into shape - 2017 style. By October everything was done and we only visited the apartment on three occasions just to get excited about the transformation. Sarah was instrumental in taking our 1970s tired and shabby unit and making it the stylish apartment it is today. She was a delight to work with, very creative, communicated very well, and always kept us totally informed throughout the process. We would not have our "new" apartment without her. She is the best!

Sarah had lots of great ideas for helping up decorate our condo and deciding which furniture to keep as we were down-sizing as part of our move.
