“We recently engaged Corbet Custom Design to fully renovate our 2,700 square foot apartment and we couldn’t be happier with the results. This was a large job which included complete gutting of all rooms and replacement of all fixtures, appliances, cabinets, flooring, windows and decking. The main living space was transformed from a compartmentalized, outdated design to a bright and airy, open plan layout. Tracy was attentive to every detail from earliest planning to occupancy permit. Tracy starts with a fabulous sense of design. Every space, every colour, every texture and nuance are carefully considered and delivered to perfection. Yet she is always budget conscious. Overseeing all materials, fixtures, appliances, cabinets and sub trades, Tracy kept us on track with our costs throughout the 5 month job. And she finished right on schedule, which allowed us to move on the planned date. All the while, Tracy oversaw every detail of our renovation, ensuring the work was complete to the highest standards. The end result is so much more beautiful and livable that we had ever imagined. This is where we believe Tracy’s true vision is proven. “Sprucehill Contracting project managed a major renovation for us in North Vancouver, which included an addition to the second level of the home, and a complete gut-and-rebuild of the interior space. In addition to the routine challenges faced in any renovation, the job had the additional challenge of being subject to work on a streamside protected property in the District of North Vancouver (the house literally sits over a creek). Any time we ran into a challenge with sourcing materials, working within our budget or working within the strict streamside bylaws, we felt that this team had our back and our best interests at heart. We were very well informed, and well listened to every step of the way. Erik and the Sprucehill team were able to navigate through the bylaws and restrictions within the DNV, work seamlessly with our designer and build our dream home, both on time and on budget. “All the support posts for our car port were rotten and needed to be replaced. The estimator from Kerr came over and reviewed the project. We discussed my requirements: demolition, post replacement, cedar siding and plexiglass windows. The estimate was acceptable and I gave the project the go ahead. Shawn was the contractor for the project. He was very pleasant. We reviewed the job and discussed his suggestions, all of which were positive. Shawn raised some concerns after the demolition. This resulted in additional work and materials. I was very concerned about the overruns but after conversations with Shawn and Dave I agreed to proceed. The end result is excellent. I will use them for future projects and would recommend them to anyone reading this review.”
