“My husband and I couldn't agree on a paint color for a specific section of our home's exterior, and we went back and forth to the hardware store for numerous paint samples, which we spot checked in areas all over the house. It was a super frustrating process until Slate Design Studio stepped in. Our professional was able to provide digital renderings of the house showcasing a carefully selected array of colors so that we could clearly see how the section of the house would look in its entirety next to every other surface it touched and needed to coordinate with. Our professional offered to change colors as needed, or answer questions for us throughout the process, and he was prompt with his replies when we asked him anything. We were able to specify the brand of paint we wanted to use, and our digital rendition was tweaked accordingly, with paint colors and product numbers listed so that we knew exactly what to look for in the store. Suddenly the process was simple - we may never go back to our antiquated system of choosing colors. My husband and I have almost decided on one color we both like (the options he presented are really good, and one was a color we never even considered, but frankly like better than our own ideas) , and painting will begin in August. “As first-time homebuilders (and me having no experience at all!), Hans was able to make all of our dreams and ideas come true, and if ever there was an issue, he explained very simply the problem of why that exact idea wouldn't be possible, but always still offered 2 or 3 similar options. Very calm, explains as much or as little as you want, and very eager to listen. Even when we had trouble with the city, he went out of his way to make it right to make sure we got our dream home! All his deadlines were met, but unfortunately an outside engineer he used slowed the process down quite a bit. You can never plan for everything, so slow-downs and hold-up's like engineers' personal problems have to be expected, I guess! Cost was what we expected for such a prestigious architect in the region, but we still ended up saving money in the long run by going with him right from the get-go.”
