That's a lot of skylights! I'm not sure in our climate how wise it is, but kitchen skylights are the least contentious ones in this household. No one ever sleeps there :)
The wooden beams give this a tase of "cabin" (Our rental has metal I beams, which immediately makes it "industrial" which I like. I'm cool with the metal I beams as well, FWIW.
