Kerrie Hinschen - Express Shutters 'White' ; We renovated all our bedrooms and some living spaces with the plantation shutters, but this - my sons room - is possibly my favourite transformation. We chose the Express White shutters to compliment the coffee-cream walls and white ceiling. They are four-sided outside mount, layout 8 and 3. There are not many true corners in our house and the outside mount gave us a little more room to play with variances in the window angles. Primarily it was not only the appearance but the safety aspects which attracted me to the plantation shutters. As it was so easy to do it ourselves, we could confidently replace the dark venetian blinds, and as there are no cords or potential for entrapment the shutters are perfect for exploring toddlers. My son loves it as he can reach to adjust the light into his room himself, he even helped with the installation. The lightness and brightness brought to the room is amazing. This coupled with the privacy they allow has let us remove the very dated external awnings, instantly modernising not only internal but external aspects of the house. With no awnings layout 8 is perfect for capturing this view!
