Bare Hallway - I need help please!

I have a real problem turning my ideas into reality. I keep trying things I see and like in magazines etc. but they never seem to work so I have stopped which means I have quite a bare hallway!
I would really appreciate thoughts and ideas on how to 'fill' the hallway.
Do I keep the bench, or replace it with a console (we tried but it looked weird with the rad showing through). I have bought a picture from Loaf (red roses) and think we will put this up above it. Any other ideas?
Where we have the shoe storage (and orchid) - what should we put on top/ over it?
Finally, what should I put on the wall to the left of the door as you look at it?
Generally, how would you approach this hallway? I would really appreciate any comments, thank you!

hace 8 añosI think a really nice large mirror would look good about that bench.
You could also consider having a bench cushion made to measure to fit on the top to give it more texture and make it look more cosy. I had this bench cushion made at my local haberdashery, it's not too expensive to have done.

(3) comentariosHi Cristina, your table looks very beautiful however I discourage to have such furniture at home because of the mirrors. I work as a feng shui consultant and I know that the mirrors have some kind of power and one should be very carful placing them in the house. My personal opinion is to have a mirror in the place where the mirror can´t see you while you are resting or sleeping because in long term it can have negative influence on you. The mirror was created to look at it and it shouldn´t be used extensively also because of the reflections of the light. The human eye naturally is used to see the light coming from certain directions, if it comes from the direction which is not used to the light, especially artificial one, it may effect your vision or have negative influence on your mood. I'm talking about something very subtle which sometimes may be felt after some time. Another thing is that I always encourage people to don´t use repetitive patterns in the house just simple irregular forms and calm and worm colours which make the space more cozy and more natural. If you need more help with the rest of your house please let me know. I could make a 3d visualisation of your place to shaw the layout. However, at the very end, he recognised an error on the final total, and explained that if I add up all the individual items, it totals 50.000. I understand, but he knew my budget was 40.000, and now because the work is finished, I can't even remove or reduce any of the work. It just seems unfair, because everyone could say that all the time. (1) comentariosApologies: here's the second item - I am having a hard time with the Houzz app for some reason (once I began adding photos it was hard to further edit my post). Anyways, item #2: does anyone have any lighting ideas for this room? The easy solution is adding recessed lights (this kitchen is on the second floor and adding lights from above shouldn't be too hard with access from attic). I thought about adding maybe 3 or so pendant lights through the middle of the room (at short lengths) could be cool, but not sure how that would look/feel (Kohler Lighting 22653-PE01-BNL Artifacts 5" Wide Mini | Build.com) I think these would give off a strong amount of light (I have used similar lights from the same Kohler line in other rooms) but may seem odd in the space/not perform as well as recessed lights as far as illumination goes. I am going for somewhat of a traditional look, that has some craftsman/occasional Victorian vibes in my home. Any ideas welcome - thanks....Ver másjennysmed
hace 8 añosHi alant1000 - Thanks for your response. I was thinking a mirror also, but perhaps above the show storage as it is more 'on the way out the door'? Interesting what you say about the cushion. An alternative we had considered was the Neptune Rupert stool. What do you think?

hace 8 añosYour bench is very cute you could always get a long cushion made to go on top.
Have you ever considered putting a cover on the radiator or would that push the bench out too much? Or maybe a console something like this which would help to hide your radiator and then you could hang a picture above it.
Here's one I found but it's for reference only as you may have a different style preference.

hace 8 añosI really like the bench, it has a touch of scandi style with the throw. I'd keep the bench and add a feature of scandi styLe artwork. I've just saved the first pics I saw from achica but look up mid century scandi prints which I think will match with the rest of your decor from what can be seen. On the right wall as you come through the front door id add either a wooden chair and coat hooks, similar to image from mad about the house (not necessarily blue!). Or go for a pair of matching tables (console style but obviously smaller.) and then a large roundish mirror over the top which spans part of the tables and a foot or so below ceiling height. If you go for a console rather than the bench I would get a radiator cover, putting furniture in front of a radiator is tricky

Not being biased, but if it was my hall. I would leave minimalist clean white walls, with this striking focal point. Strong furniture against clean walls look great and is a focal point.

hace 7 añosWhat about a Bench radiator?! You could replace the current radiator with a bench style model which would solve the issue of having a radiator behind a bench.
