“Butler Landscapes completed a landscape project (building a terraced area, pathways and driveways, two raised beds as well as a small amount of planting) in our suburban garden in the summer of 2016. We had plans for a garden design drawn up before meeting Sharon and Paul - but these needed modifying in order to keep the project within the budget. Paul was very helpful in suggesting the elements of re-design that would keep the price down to what we could afford, and having giving us a price he stuck to it for the entirety of the work - no hidden extras, no last minute requests for extra money. Compared to past experiences it was an absolute joy! I felt that both Sharon and Paul listened to what we wanted, and didn't try and persuade us to have a design or style that we were not comfortable with, but did suggest modifications that would improve on the the practicalities or look of the design - and we were very happy with these suggestions.
The work itself was completed to a very high standard, the men working on the project worked hard and felt trustworthy, which was important to me as I was out at work for much of the time. The work did take longer to complete than initially anticipated, but this was largely due to the weather - which was not under Butler Landscapes' control. Paul ensured that all the loose ends were tied up before he asked for the final payment, coming back to the site a couple of times to ensure that all the last bits and pieces of work were finished. We are delighted with the end result and looking forward to enjoying it properly after the winter.”

“Tina was fabulous from start to finish. We had a long thin London Garden with no shape - but a beautiful Beech Tree in the middle - and she turned it into a journey of discovery. By creating different Seating Areas, Curved Walls, curved Flower beds and advice on Planting, our garden has become a pleasure to sit in all year and all day long.
I have some planting knowledge myself but lack the ability to visualise the whole garden. We had great fun going through different options, planning areas and keeping existing plants in some areas and moving others.
Tina listened to my thoughts and ideas, worked what was practical into the project and when the work finally started I felt very confident that the finished Garden would be perfect. We also had to fit in a Table Tennis Table.
The finished Project was better than expected, I took my time researching Brick colours and Patio slabs and chatting to Tina about how they would enhance the plants around them. And it really worked.
The garden was completed in August 2023 and I couldn't be happier. Just enjoying the bulbs popping their heads up now.

“I had a fairly large border (approx 8m x 5m) which had been neglected for a few years. I wanted to create a low maintenance flower bed and liked the idea of a country garden look. Ben and Paul came round and assessed what was there in terms of position (light/shade), soil and the shrubs which were worth retaining. We also discussed budget.
I then received a planting plan with a quotation and commissioned the work.
The bed was cleared and planted mid June and I am delighted with the result. I now have a bed which will flower more or less from May to September and will require increasingly less maintenance as it matures.
FGD are extremely knowledgeable and gave me advice on other areas of my garden (not areas which will result in work for them).
I do have another two areas which do need a makeover and I will certainly commission them to undertake the project.”

“Cheryl came highly recommended by a friend to help design part of our mature garden after a barn had been built to replace an old shed and some very old and diseased shrubs and trees had been removed. As a keen gardener I thought I knew what I wanted and was a bit surprised when Cheryl started by looking at our address on Google Earth but this demonstrates how she starts with the overall shape of the garden and an understanding of the surrounding landscape. Cheryl visited the garden twice. On the first we talked about how we use the garden, what we like, don’t like and how we want to maintain it. Cheryl left us with a sketch. On the second visit we refined the design on a scale drawing and discussed planting ideas. We’ve now had the plan created by a landscaper and are delighted with the result. The whole garden now makes sense – we have an interesting design that works so well but actually didn’t change much – changing a border shape, relocating an armillary sphere and creating a path through some existing trees where all unexpected things that make the garden so cohesive. Could not have achieved this without the help of a professional garden designer and Cheryl was a pleasure to work with, extremely knowledgeable, creative and generously still on hand for ongoing planting advice.”
