“We worked with Garden Gate on two major yard renovation projects, in summer 2008 and fall 2010. From concept to completion, the entire team and experience, led by designer Cathy Carr, was first rate. I would describe us as "involved" clients and our input and feedback was welcomed throughout--including thoughtful understanding of parts of the project we wished to plant ourselves. The 2010 project involved many moving parts, including removal of existing concrete/asphalt driveway, stormwater flooding mitigation, installation of flagstone patio, water feature, stone steps and driveway pavers, as well as plant installation. When the following spring thaw revealed water seepage issues, they returned without hesitation to reroute drainage and solve the problem. The projects have transformed our outdoor living space and bring us great joy as we spend lots of time outside with family and friends.”

“Rob and his crew did an excellent job revitalizing our backyard with new sod after a large tree fell in a recent storm and caused extensive damage in our backyard. Rob met with me personally to review what we wanted and turned around a quick estimate that he was able to work with me on based on our budget. Rob's Project Manager, Mike, did a great job of getting all the work done in a day while being sensitive to my wife at home on maternity leave with an infant. Rob talked to me after the sod install was complete to make sure everything was completed to satisfaction and give me sod care and watering instructions. I can say that Lenhoff's Landscaping did a better job that we could have anticipated, and they did a great job of cleaning up afterwards to make it seem like they were never there and we've had a beautiful lawn all along! This was likely a small job for their company, but they certainly made it seem like an important job nonetheless. Thank you!”

“We have worked with Maxalea off and on over 30 years. Two years ago we turned again to Maxalea to do all of our landscaping and maintenance. We did get other estimates and plans first and the costs were all comparable, but we felt much more comfortable knowing Maxalea's service level and reputation. Within the first six months, we had major cleanup and replanting and a drain installed that solved years of drainage issues. We have since had more plantings and are on a yearly contract with Maxalea to do our mowing, monthly maintenance, plantings, etc. They just rebuilt and stabilized a paver wall and terrace that a previous landscaper built incorrectly. We always know when they are coming to do work and they show up on time, do the work, and the yard is spotless when they leave. If I email a request I get a response in minutes, even if our contact is on vacation! They are a professional organization that makes one feel like their only customer. Our neighbors are always commenting on how lovely our property looks. They are a top notch organization!”

“Manuel and his crew have done several major jobs for us over the past year, and I cannot say enough good things about him and his work. He turned a large, brambly patch of woods full of debris and 30 years worth of vines, weeds, and sticker bushes into a beautiful oasis where we love to spend time. He built a beautiful stone patio, replaced a large section of our lawn with new sod, planted numerous shrubs, large trees, and perennials, all of which are thriving, and built a gravel drainage ditch, incorporating it into the landscape so that it seems like a natural part of the property. Manuel knows his plants, and does a great job of helping you decide where plants should be placed, and where to move existing plants in order to maximize their impact in the landscape. He is an excellent communicator, always responding to messages very quickly, and providing estimates in a timely manner. Finally, Manuel is just a really good person, very friendly, with an equally friendly crew, always full of smiles and good cheer even when they're hauling enormous hemlock trees with root balls the size of wine barrels off the truck. I would not hesitate to recommend MMV Landscaping and Stonework to any of my friends; we are so happy to have found a landscaper we can trust, who does excellent work, and who is reasonably priced. “We worked with Aaron Raines with Live Green Landscapes to build a 50' long dry stack bluestone wall with evergreen plantings to screen our house from our neighbor's driveway. After receiving multiple bids, Live Green was not the lowest (never go with the low bid) but was middle of the road. They did a phenomenal job with the construction as well as sending updated construction photos as they were completing the work while we were on vacation. The plantings they provided have flourished and we have received numerous compliments on the quality and appearance of the overall product. Aaron has always made himself accessible if we have questions and we would definitely highly recommend Live Green Landscaping to others.”
