“We worked with Hartley & Hill Design to completely renovate and redesign our kitchen last summer. They were fantastic and we cannot say enough about how wonderful they were. We met with them and described the concepts that we wanted (functional and classic, keeping in mind that we like to entertain, but we have small children and a busy family life). They put together the design and sat down with us to explain their ideas very thoroughly and also run through the budget. They came up with a fantastic design that we never would have thought possible, incorporating very creative ideas, while still keeping in mind our budget as well as our personal preferences. It was a very collaborative process, with us being as involved as we wanted to be, but not feeling like we had to manage a project; they expertly managed the project for us! All of the subcontractors they hired were first class. The renovation was very well organized, there was consistent open communication, any hiccups along the way (as will happen in any project this size) were managed smoothly and effectively. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the end result. We can't wait to use them again soon to redesign our dining room/living room area. We would highly recommend them!”

“Elaine was a delight to work with. She was very responsive which was such a nice surprise when working with a contractor. She remodeled our kitchen, living room, and bathroom. I have champagne taste and a beer budget. Elaine was communicative, found great substitutes that were in our price range, and gave us a lot of choices. “Our experience with Caryn Paradis was excellent from start to finish. We had an unfinished basement that we wanted to finish and didn't know where to begin. Caryn talked with us in detail about how we wanted to use our basement and then came up with plans that included all of our needs as well as ideas that we hadn't even considered but should have. She was able to design a space that incorporated areas for everyone in our family, including our young son--even a stage that could be pulled apart for use as couches when he becomes a teenager! Because we live in separate states, Caryn was able to do much of the work remotely with minimal visits to our home to take measurements, etc. She had finish samples sent directly to us quickly and walked us through the decision making process. She designed specific requests, such as a fireplace for my husband and a guest room/office area. Caryn paid attention not only to the aesthetics of the job, but also the practicalities, such as outlet placement and HVAC. She also included amenities such as a well-placed dorm fridge which will come in handy when our son is old enough to use the space as a hang-out with friends. All in all, the job was smooth, well-designed and surprisingly painless. Caryn listened to our needs and then exceeded them. We would recommend her without reservation.”

“Jen of JKate Designs recently decorated our income property in Ortley Beach, NJ. She selected paint colors, furniture, accessories and created layouts. She was easy to work with and talk to about likes and dislikes. She worked within our budget and the entire process was smooth. This house was an interesting challenge, as she had to work around some existing decor/furniture, that maybe we both would not normally have selected on our own, but it came with the house and we did not want to get rid of it all. She selected items/colors so that together, the "old" and new have created a beautiful, timeless look.The outcome is stunning and we could not be happier! The property has been listed for rent for about 2 weeks and we already have 5 summer weeks rented. we are convinced it's the decor and could not have done it without her.
