“This was our second time working with the amazing team of contractors, project managers and designers at Prominent. They had previously done a spectacular job refinishing our basement (beams, bedroom, bathroom, storage, Martha Stewart mudroom, you name it). We were expecting twins and the need to expand our house was imminent. Our house is a hundred year old arts & crafts house so maintaining the integrity was essential. And being on schedule! We renovated our kitchen into a kitchen/great room area which therefore doubled our master bedroom and master bath located above. In addition, we created a bar room space where our former EIK was located and renovated our powder room. Lastly, we finished our third floor to be a guest suite with the most incredible bathroom ever. In addition, we added a new deck with under decking materials and had to rebuild stone walls-- I had no idea just how gorgeous this could be. A deck is not just a deck. The end result is nothing short of spectacular, extremely tasteful and maintained Arts & Crafts integrity although my husband and I were adamant that although we liked the linear style and functionality of A&C, we did not like the "darkness." Prominent stayed within our budget unless my husband and I personally strayed afar. They advised us when aesthetically we could all make a better choice. They were available 24/7, literally and if we had even the smallest emergencies, someone from Prominent was in our home immediately. I also love that Promiment Design factors into every project. Having Traci to literally help us with the tile work, cabinetry, paint colors, furniture layouts, the babies' nursery was such a wonderful finishing touch. Our home would not be the same otherwise. I am really not being overly sensationalistic here. We have truly had an amazing experience working with Prominent and having to live out the end of my pregnancy in my basement, and the first two months with twins, 2 big dogs, baby nurse and so forth down there, they did everything possible to expedite and keep us very comfortable.”

“Jon and Mark Pappalardi built a very impressive gunite swimming pool with a water park grade slide in my backyard and professionally landscaped my entire property. In addition to the gunite pool, a large Cambridge paver patio was built to accommodate our outdoor furniture and dining areas. A multi tiered Moss Rock waterfall cascades through the landscape and slide and into the gunite pool. They also redesigned my driveway including a paver walkway and a Cultured Stone retaining wall. The project exceeded all my expectations. Additionally, throughout the whole project both Jon and Mark were readily available to speak with whenever I needed to contact them. Further, the price was extremely competitive. When I was taking bids for the job I received estimates that were 100 to 150% higher than the price I ultimately received from Green Island Design”

“I decided to finish my basement in Briarcliff Manor in March 2019, and discovered that the village code required that I have drawings completed by a licensed architect. I got a couple of quotes locally and was surprised at the cost, being that the plans would be rather simple. Finally a contractor recommended Tomas of Botero Building Design. I contacted Tomas and scheduled an appt for him to come over and see the basement. Tomas and his father arrived right on time and were very thorough in taking measurements and explaining village codes. They also quoted me a very fair price and told me they would deliver the completed plans within a week, personally. Once I received the plans I submitted them to the village, along with my application, in order to get my permit. The building inspector did not review the plans thoroughly and would not allow me to proceed. I didn't have the technical "know How" to debate the inspector, so I called Tomas. He immediately contacted the village building inspector and had him take out the plans. He reviewed the plans with the inspector over the phone and then the inspector realized he had made a mistake. I was issued a permit and my contractors started work. A couple of times during the construction phase we needed to get some clarification about the plans, and Tomas was easy to get a hold of and gave us the answers we needed. Tomas and his father are experienced, knowledgeable, and provide an exceptional product along with exceptional customer service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

“Designed interiors for a $500,000 rebuilding of a million dollar home that was damaged in fire. Also managed bid process and contractors project throughout repair of foundation damage on the same home. Absolutely a home-run. Not only was the artistic expertise outstanding the general knowledge about such matters as foundation repair was amazing. Knows way more than the general contractors about contracting.”

“I worked with Harpreet on a bathroom renovation in early 2017. In addition to a wonderful design sense, Harpreet was preternaturally patient and a great listener. She easily grasped my vaguely expressed guidelines and was able to transform them into the sort of “statement” bathroom I had always wanted. She avoided inserting herself into my vision while helping at the same time steer me away from some ill-advised ideas. After demolition occurred, we discovered extra space behind the walls of which we had not previously been aware. With the contractors off over the weekend, Harpreet worked diligently over two days to create four alternate methods of taking advantage of the newfound space. Other owners in my building have since based their own renovations on Harpreet’s ideas. The end result is an amazing, unique bathroom. The only ‘problem’ is guests who invariably take 30+ minute showers. A renovation process is a marathon, not a sprint. Harpreet was unfailingly hard-working, creative, and patient throughout the process. She has a deep knowledge of materials and a wide-ranging network of supplier contacts that greatly expedited the renovation. It was a pleasure to work with her and I look forward to doing so again on future projects.”

Mr. Kelly asked me what sort of landscaping I wanted, and then very politely suggested why it would be a colossal bore.
