Mine was a total renovation and I had ideas of how I wanted my kitchen to look, but did not see a clear path for getting there. I thought we would be stuck with replacing cabinets and appliances in the existing foot print, but she was able to offer different design scenarios that looked great, functioned well and made economic sense. She did a great job of designing the layout and selecting the materials that transformed the space from a rustic feel to a modern, sleek, working kitchen. “We used Basement Edge (Marty Shelburne and Todd Tretev) for our basement remodel. They were great. We knew that if we put the bathroom where it was plumbed it would be a mistake from a design standpoint and they were the only contractor who said -- yes, you're right and went the extra step to help us put it in the best possible location. We worked with their designer who had great suggestions for wall color, carpet and placement of cabinets, lighting, etc. I'd use them again without question. We did take 3 bids when we started our project and they were not the least expensive but certainly competitive and their advise was invaluable.”

“Dave McLean and his crew from Castle Building did an outstanding job finishing our basement. The detailed plan and 3D drawings that were prepared in advance helped us understand exactly how each room would look and what to expect. Dave's attention to detail and desire to "do the right thing" carried over to all of his crew. They were respectful of our home, were nice to our dogs (very important), and were always willing to listen to our concerns and never tried to cut corners. When things did not turn out exactly as planned, which was not unexpected given the size of our project, they never tried to talk us out of making it right but instead corrected the issue and never complained. We would not hesitate to use Castle Building again and would highly recommend them.”

“We're a retired Military couple so we've been around a while. After getting several quotes from other local companies, Drew (Owner, Southern Heritage) was the one guy that took time (from the start, while we were still checking into quotes) to sit with us and talk to us about the details that were important to us. The others were very 'corporate' and seemed like it was just another job to them. Got a good feeling right off that Drew was going to be involved in making sure our deck was what we wanted. Working with him and his team was just like we expected, they made sure, as things went along, that it was what we wanted. In our years living all over the world and working with all kinds of different projects and companies, I would strongly recommend Southern Heritage as your best choice for a construction project. Our new deck is more solidly built than the original and definately more classy looking ... we built this house so we know how the original deck was constructed. We couldn't be more impressed or more happy with our new deck. We plan to work with SH again for some indoor remodeling as well.”

“We had a wonderful experience with the team at Active Design & Build. They performed an extensive renovation of our 6 bed, 4 bath home in Denver that has original 1920's construction. Going into the project we knew we had a reasonable budget to address many of the core issues. However, we were also prepared to face the reality that some items would need to remain out of scope and be addressed in the coming years as our finances permitted. Fortunately, the ADB team took great care in creating a project design that balanced our needs, wants, and budget to make our vision for our home a reality. The build process was seamless. ADB handled all aspects of the design, permitting, building approvals, on-site deliveries, and build out. All we had to do was check on progress and selections in the client portal. That’s another thing we really liked about the company, they embrace technology and have a client portal that allows you to review invoices, make payments, approve changes, and our favorite feature: review photos of the project as it progresses. They continue to impress even after our project ended, as we had additional small things that we wanted to have done and ADB came back several months later at no cost! We are incredibly happy with the final product and can’t thank the entire team enough for making the renovation such a pleasant experience and leaving us with our beautiful home we have dreamed about for years.”
