“Our requirement was a bit unusual as we needed to fit a new structure onto the rear of the house without compromising existing windows, and to create a novel and dramatic structure with ‘wow’ factor whilst transforming the overall look of the rear elevation. Where two previous architects had failed to find a solution that we liked, Lizzie took us through a layered process that ultimately delivered an exciting and unique solution. Through this, she developed a good understanding of what we were trying to achieve and we are delighted with the resulting scheme.
Lizzie provided an excellent drawings pack that our builders rate as the best they have seen, and was highly effective at working through detail with us and the builders and key suppliers to ensure no issues or surprises as the build progressed. “We employed Milton Architects to help us with a major (for us) project in transforming our rather quirky 1911 house. The project took c10 months and we made it more difficult for the architects and contractors by choosing to live in different corners of the house while work carried on around us.
We are delighted with the end result. Mike Milton brought many innovative elements to the overall design and equal emphasis was placed on the practical considerations such as construction, plumbing, electrics and sourcing. The project incorporated constructional changes, renovations and improvements, two new extensions and a few demolitions.
MA handled the project management very well, first through Mike and then his colleague Ros Leverett. The project - having allowed for the constraints and problems encountered along the way (asbestos, rotten timbers, crumbling foundations ...) was very close to the original budget and timescale, and the interactions with the construction company exemplary.
So in conclusion we are very pleased to recommend Milton Architects highly and unreservedly for any project remotely similar to our own.”

“After interviewing 2 (boring) architects, James Fowler was the last meeting of the day! We nearly chased him down the street when he left. His building knowledge, enthusiasm, energy and ideas far outshone anyone else’s.
Over the following year, we worked with James, Rob Ben and Peter. All were fantastic! The level of professionalism, organisation and knowledge was second to none. I was warned that you would “fall out with your architect or builder”. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We received the highest standard of customer service and expertise.
Every part of our large building project was dealt with perfectly and we felt very looked after every step of the way.
