“Studio AWA recently designed and project-managed the renovation of our house. The brief was to open up the ground floor to let in more natural light, and to make more efficient use of the living space. “We selected Martin and Louise from Urban Creatures to design and manage the build of our house because we liked their portfolio and found that they understood our brief. As a result, the design process of the house did not take long and they provided many good ideas. Obtaining planning permission for our house was quite problematic, but Urban Creatures were very professional in dealing with the planning department. Despite them working to our budget, the quotes from the builders were at least 1/3 above our budget, which led to some changes and omissions. But at least that saved us from a lot of nasty surprises once the building work started. Urban Creatures supervised the whole building process and we had fortnightly meetings with both Urban Creatures and the builder to discuss progress and issues. Again, this was done in a very professional manner. Overall, we are very happy with the service provided by Urban Creatures. We would recommend them to others and would not hesitate to use them again.”
