Traci D'Alessio did a phenomenal job in meeting this challenge. her thoughtful and meticulous approach, exceptional skills of listening, and genuine interest in our preferences resulted in an award winning kitchen. I would hire her again for any project. I will also mention that we had the added challenge of employing a design/build firm for our contracting/building needs which meant that at times there were conflicts and potential awkwardness with 2 architects involved. When it was necessary and she felt that the product might be compromised, Traci D'Alessio managed these potential conflicts well -- an underappreciated but VERY important skill. Last, Traci has an exceptional command of the most up-to-date technology in her profession. This enables her to make changes with lightning speed (in comparison to the surprisingly archaic methods of many local architects) -- this will save you not only time but money.”

“Calico Studio was like working with old friends (they provided full design and construction document services for a ground up custom home)! I had the real potential of being a "client-zilla" with an architectural degree of my own, a bit of an analytical nature, active in commercial RE & construction all of my career, and worst of all, no true idea of what I wanted besides the spaces and a rough floor plan sketch. Just coming out of nearly 30 yrs where my ex defined and chose our style, I only had a swirl of thoughts (a big Houzz ideabook), and a jumble of images in my head. Heather is completely knowledgeable about the codes, environmental concerns, permitting, the political nature of dealing with municipalities, materials, new markets, work flow - you name it - and without vanity or ego. She is a delight to work with, and I am very lucky I found the perfect architect for my dream home.”

“Working with Belladomus has been a great pleasure. Their design plans have hugely improved the livability and attractiveness of our home. “My husband and I live in a beautiful location on the Haw River and wanted to remodel part of our home to take advantage of the views and river access. We entertain frequently and wanted more room in the right places and also good flow from room to room. I am an artist, and my husband enjoys woodworking. We wanted spaces that reinforced our aspirations. We decided to add a den with a wood stove, a screened in porch with cat walk to our large back deck, a new kitchen, an art studio, and a workshop. To keep costs down, we hoped to use significant floor space in a poorly-used two car garage. We had some design ideas for the finished product, but mainly, we knew what we wanted to achieve in the way we live in our house and on our property. We looked for an architect with imagination and with good taste who could pull it all together for us. Alicia Ravetto was the perfect choice for our project. She immediately understood what we were after, and she designed spaces that creatively achieved all our criteria. She was very organized in how she handled the developing plans. We could look back and see how we moved from step to step. This was important in constantly bringing us back to the goals we set at the very beginning. Alicia met deadlines and was fun and honest to work with throughout the project. There were significant cost overruns, but this is because we were so happy with what we saw happening, we asked for more and more. We are thrilled with the outcome. It is wonderful living in our "new" custom home.”
