Powder Room
The design objective was to create an unexpected and one of a kind sink to sit atop the timber counter in this Powder Room, while working within a restrained budget. To accomplish this involved fabricating a mock-up using cleverly purposed materials such as welded sheets of wire and a bag of charcoal colored river rocks. The wire was repurposed from leftover gate material, and the river rocks are a lighthearted nod to the residence fondly referred to as “Rock Bottom”.
Concealed beneath the wire basket and timbers, an economical stainless steel sink catches the water from the faucet and connects to the drain. The flowing water through the river rocks creates a soothing stream-like sound.
Repurposed and meaningful materials combined with simplicity of design resulted in a memorable experience and an entirely redefined sink that guests love to use!
