This balcony is decked with cedar boards which mirror the red cedar cladding on the facade of the building. Both the cladding and the boards have been treated with UV resistant coatings to preserve the rich brown coloration. Without this the boards would weather to a silver hue.
Expert CLPM project manager tip - when choosing external areas to clad with red cedar it is worth bearing in mind later maintenance. Make sure you can easily access the cedar as you may need to recoat the cladding with oil or coating every 3-5 years. Scaffolding and cherry pickers are expensive to hire!
