Quizá no sea la zona de estar más común en nuestro país, pero quien tiene un sótano sabe todas las posibilidades que ofrece. Eso sí, debe estar bien acondicionado para que la temperatura sea óptima y, en definitiva, sea agradable estar ahí. Remodelar un sótano que se tiene medio abandonado o se usa solo como trastero, hace que la casa se revalorice y regala metros cuadrados útiles. ¿En qué puedes transformar tu sótano?

Para lo que te va a servir principalmente un sótano es para liberar espacio en la vivienda, pero no tiene por qué cumplir únicamente una función de trastero. Un espacio bien aprovechado puede ser lo que tú quieras. Eso sí, ten en cuenta la altura del techo, cuántas ventanas hay, si comunica directamente con el exterior, etcétera.
  • En una sala de juegos: es la oportunidad perfecta para comprarte esa mesa de billar que tanto deseas o, por qué no, para poner una televisión de gran tamaño donde jugar a tus videojuegos preferidos.
  • En un comedor para reuniones familiares: a veces no sabemos dónde poner a tantos amigos y familiares, así que aprovechar todos los espacios de la casa parece una solución más que acertada.
  • En un gimnasio: se acabaron las multitudes y compartir vestuario. Hazte con tus máquinas preferidas, deja espacio de sobra para estirar y aprovecha el tiempo de ejercicio al máximo.
  • En un dormitorio para invitados: si eres de los que no saben decir que no y estás harto de montar el sofá cama o de inflar el colchón hinchable: esta es la mejor solución para ti.
  • En una bodega: para los amantes del vino y para los que sueñan con tener un espacio con encanto en el que perderse.
  • En un cine: sí, en casa. ¿Te imaginas? Podrías poner un proyector y unas butacas, incluso. Nada volverá a ser igual si conviertes tu sótano en esto (y te saldrán amigos los domingos por la tarde hasta de debajo de las piedras).

¿Cómo decorar un sótano?

Depende de lo que hayas decidido hacer con él, por supuesto, pero uno de los aspectos más importantes es la iluminación. Este tipo de zonas de estar suelen tener el techo más bajo y ventanas altas que no son muy grandes. Así que una buena disposición de las luces no solo jugará un papel crucial en el ambiente que le quieras dar a esta estancia, sino que influirá en cómo de útil será el espacio. Es importante darle sensación de amplitud y evitar puntos muertos. En relación con esto, está el color de las paredes. Al tratarse de una zona que no necesitamos, solemos tender a arriesgar más, pero ten en cuenta la regla básica de los colores: cuanto más oscuro el color, más pequeño parecerá el sitio.
