What size table??

The measurement of my banquette is 3’x3’ inside the L. What is the smallest sized round table I can use that would still reach the two persons who would sit on the ends and would also allow me to have two small chairs on the outside? I have a peninsula and the back of the barstools are 7’ from the far inside of the banquette.

This visual of a 4ft table is misleading. If you look at it straight on you can see that there is just room enough for the leftmost seater to dine, though it looks like it falls far short on the right side. It’s an optical illusion, as both sides of the banquette are equal. I would not go any smaller than 4 ft.

Thank you. It looks right in the picture but when I measure 48” and hold my tape measure that looks a bit large for the space. Maybe I’m wrong but that only leaves 3’ between the table and my barstools and that’s not including the chairs.

Hi Cristina, your table looks very beautiful however I discourage to have such furniture at home because of the mirrors. I work as a feng shui consultant and I know that the mirrors have some kind of power and one should be very carful placing them in the house. My personal opinion is to have a mirror in the place where the mirror can´t see you while you are resting or sleeping because in long term it can have negative influence on you. The mirror was created to look at it and it shouldn´t be used extensively also because of the reflections of the light. The human eye naturally is used to see the light coming from certain directions, if it comes from the direction which is not used to the light, especially artificial one, it may effect your vision or have negative influence on your mood. I'm talking about something very subtle which sometimes may be felt after some time. Another thing is that I always encourage people to don´t use repetitive patterns in the house just simple irregular forms and calm and worm colours which make the space more cozy and more natural. If you need more help with the rest of your house please let me know. I could make a 3d visualisation of your place to shaw the layout. Best \Marcin

Muchas gracias por contestarme a las dos, si me decanto por el agua marina mejor ké el gris, no, no voy a poner nada en esa pared, porque, es ké no Le puedo hacer una foto a la habitación entera, porque la cocina está metida, dentro del salón y con el sofá pues nos pasamos un pokitin de grande y se come el salón y los muebles de la cocina son enteros hasta el techo, para ké me crupier an más cosas y el mueble de TV me lo están haciendo a medida y lo ké puedo lo pongo hasta el techo, porque el espacio no me sobra, así ké dejando esa pared sin nada, es como ké kita la pesadez...

MARTA: No deberías necesitar hacer la prueba, para ver que te equivocas y no queda todo lo bien que debería quedar. Tu mesa y tus sillas, NO SIRVEN. Están fuera de la división en que juega tu SALON. Me sorprende que intuyas que algunas de las cosas recomendadas, se salen de tus posibilidades. ¿Sabes sus precios? ¿Han hablado con los de Sonseca? ¿Por qué te obstinas en poner lámpara sobre zona de estar? ¿Por qué no puedes dar entrada a la chimenea, si tienes toda la pared, para aprovechar los besta y su tapa? Por qué ignoras las ventajas de asientos apilables? ¿Por qué sigues tirando hacia el NORDICO, que no hace sino restar prestancia a tu salón? ¿Por qué no opinas, sobre si te gusta el Salón empapelado? ¿Que tipo de alfombras piensas comprar? Te pasé un modelo de pié para mesa de cristal, intuyendo que te podría gustar. Imprime la foto, o envíala por e-mail a un CERRAJERO y a un CARPINTERO. Yo tengo ambos profesionales en la misma calle de mi almacén. ¿Sabes que hay cristales de una pulgada de grueso o espesor?. Un cristal de 11/15 mm resulta ridículo en diámetros grandes y con asientos cuyo respaldo apenas supera la altura de los brazos, ni te digo. Ya de empeñados, puedes poner asientos, que se alojen por completo bajo la tapa. Disculpa que te pregunte tantas cosas. Pon el Salón como creas que puedes y con unos años, le vas dando la forma, el carácter y la EXCLUSIVIDAD que requiere. Si el motor de tu coche exige gasolina de 98 octanos, deja la manguera de 95. Si pagas 50 €, lo único que pasa, es que te ponen un poco menos y no estropeas el motor. Si llevabas tiempo estancada, nadie te exigirá prisas ahora, para acabar el Salón. Hacer cosas para salir del paso, a la larga, sale más caro, pues además de que no te satisfagan, estarás desde el principio pensando en cambiarlas.

In general a 4' dia table is what is comfortable for four people, but you can probably get by with a 42".

I would mock it up with cardboard/boxes to make sure it doesn't cause problems for the counter chairs

I’ve resized the mock-up using the bench as a 3 ft guide. There appears to be about 2 ft from edge of table to counter stools. I like la_la Girl’s suggestion to mock it up using boxes.

Visual perception can be tricky. Getting people in the space is what matters most.In addition to cardboard mock up of the table, take two chairs from elsewhere in your house and place them in the space. Have four people sit down and float the mocked up cardboard table on your laps and get a feel for how crowded it is between the chairs and stools.

I was confused about the number of people eating at this table at one time. Are you going for four or more than four? How many are children who like to squeeze into a tight space as opposed to adults who don't? Are you just eating bowls of cereal here or full on dinners?

IMO, round tables don’t work with corner banquet for reason stated in original question. If a rectangle ( square or oblong) is mot desirable consider an oval or round table with a leaf insert to create an oval so evwryone can have a full meal placement even if sitting on the end.
