“Dan Steigerwald of Designscapes and his team provided us with a complete design and installation of our back yard garden that included a new pool, limestone patio with several levels and a bbq island, complete landscaping, and lighting. We could not be more enthused and excited as we look out at our paradise. The professionalism that Dan, his quality control man, Jerry, and their crew exhibit is not matched anywhere. They are completely committed to ensuring the project stays on time (where weather permit), on budget, and that the client is happy. In addition, Dan is very easy to work with and accepting of changes, taking them in stride to make sure things are done right and everyone is happy. We truly have a magazine spread quality result....don't be surprised if it is photographed for a magazine!!!”

“Robert Khazzam designed our rooftop garden in early 2014, and the installation was completed in fall of 2014. He did an amazing job and my wife and i have been absolutely thrilled with the result. We came to Robert with only some preliminary ideas of what we wanted out of the garden. He developed a beautiful design that absolutely transformed the rooftop. The design made great use of the existing space, using curved plant beds to separate the space into two different areas, but keeping a flowing, open feel to the entire roof. He was very receptive to our thoughts and suggestions as the design progressed, but added a number of features that we hadn't thought of and integrated all of these features into a unified design with a polished, professional look. Robert had a very deep knowledge of the plants that were included in the garden. He included plants that worked very well for the climate and location, and as a result the plants have absolutely thrived. He intentionally included different layers of plants that bloom at various times from the spring to fall, so we've been fascinated to see the garden constantly change as the seasons evolve. He also had a thorough understanding of the requirements for installing the garden, so that the installation went very smoothly and the finished garden matched the design perfectly. My wife and I had looked at options for finishing our roof for years, and we have often commented that we never thought it would turn out as well as it did. I would highly recommend Robert for designing a garden or outdoor space, and we're very grateful for the work he did for us.”

“I have had the pleasure to know Bebe (Gardens by Design) for over 20 years. She has transformed my gardens into displays of artwork. She tirelessly designs, picks out planting’s and many other details which are too numerous to mention. She does it all. Her staff also maintain my gardens better than I can. What sets her apart from anyone else is she is always thinking of how the design will affect or compliment the environment. She uses all organic organisms to solve any pest issues that may arise. “Lear Mahoney planned and executed a $2 million landscape for 7 acres on the waterfront in North Haven on Long Island. This included extensive hardscape (terracing, walls, swimming pool, lighting) as well as trees, bushes and other plant materials. The work done was outstanding. They took time to understand what we wanted and then brought creativity and a wonderful sense of the site to the design. The terracing they put in was quite brilliant in tying the house to the site. They integrated a very natural perspective with a subtle degree of structure. They are professional in everything they do. They worked extremely well with the architect and project manager and work was executing quickly and thoroughly. I would recommend them to anyone.”

“Gary's insight into how to make the most of your property amazes me. He made a few immediate observations about what we/guests see or don't see upon approaching our home, and guided us through a process on how to dramatically improve it. With no direct access to our street from our front door, Gary redesigned our front lawn, carving a serpentine path of unique pavers, and added stone steps to our newly covered front porch and walkway to the curb. He ripped out all of the 40 year old overgrown shrubs from the front lawn and driveway, and replaced them with young and healthy plantings sprinked with lots of colorful trees and flowers. Further, with any visitors formerly only seeing our home from the bottom end of our driveway and the original only point of access, Gary ripped out the deteriorated drive and replaced it with a continuation of the serpentine flow of pavers that now frame the drive and connect to both the new front walkway and a path to our back lawn and pool. We could not recommend anyone or any company more highly!”

“I had quite a few landscape design firms come in to spec out the landscaping for our home. Each time, I would carefully lay out the look we wanted (specimen estate-style planting, lots of grass, neat and tidy boxwoods, etc.) and each time we'd get back a design which was completely not responsive. Perhaps our Cold Spring Harbor/Lloyd Harbor address caused these firms to throw every plant they had into the plan just to run up the budget, I don't know. What a relief to finally meet Kevin Natalie and to finally find someone who listens (attentively) and who had a remarkable vision. He took our ideas and brought them to a whole new level. He also supervised all aspects of the installation to make sure it came out the way we wanted. We couldn't be happier.”
