“We (a team from our Board) hired Mr. Abbate and team to help us design a new Master Plan for our 90 year old, 55 acre, christian group camp in the mountains of Southern California. He and his team did a fabulous job. The end product was completed on time and on budget, and it met all of our very challenges set of demands. His team created a beautiful design that we are very proud of. Mike's work started with a very detailed process of understanding every inch of our facility and our uses and dreams for it. He helped us imagine how camp user needs might change over the years and how we could create a Master Plan that was better able to adapt. Because he has been a part of so many types of projects he had experiences that helped us to think, early in the design process, about potential challenges, that could have cost us dearly later in the project. I think one of Mike's greatest assets is his ability/passion to "hear" what his clients want and to turn those desires into a project that works well and looks great. We were thrilled that Mike's varied life, development and design experiences helped us improve our ideas vastly. You can imagine, that when a team is working on a project that they care about deeply, disagreements can arise. Mike's people skills often helped our team come to agreement when we might not have found our way. (We are all still very good friends thanks, in part, to Mike's wisdom during our project.) Mike always kept his commitments and was often gracious with us when we were having trouble keeping ours. Abbate Design did world class work for us and helped us ensure that what we built was going to be sustainable and healthy for our camp and our neighbors for a long time. “We worked with Landscape East and West on a complete backyard remodel this past year. Our designer was Christin and we are very pleased with the final result. Christin did a great job finding out what our goals for our landscape were and collaboratively designing a covered and open patio area as well as green space. We have yet to see the full effect of the new plantings, but love the plants with winter interest that were suggested. We have also greatly appreciated Christin's responsiveness to questions and finalizing the project and the hard work of the team that did the implementation, who worked late several times to ensure that the project moved along. “My company, Landscape East & West, Inc has worked with Lynn on several designs over the years and I have used Lynn to design my personal front garden. Lynn is extremely professional in her approach and careful to listen to the customers needs/wants. We work with several designers for our projects, but Lynn is always top of the list when she can work us into the schedule. My personal project with Lynn turned out great and she was able to assist with long distance procurement of plants when the local suppliers were unable to source. Fantastic service.”

“I contacted Lydia Cox at Radish Gardens when I decided my front and back yard needed a complete overhaul. I wanted to change from spotty grass patches and weeds to a low maintenance, water tolerant, native plant landscape. As Lydia and I walked around my yard, she took time to listen to my ideas and discuss with me all of the factors that need to be considered: sunny vs shady, neighboring trees and houses, rain run-off, timing of flowering plants, etc. She offered several native plant suggestions that fit my criteria, and laid out a computer-drafted, color design plan that showed how the yard and plants should look in 3-5 years. We easily settled on a simple, cost-effective, creative, low maintenance, and water tolerant design that is also very bird and bee friendly! Lydia mapped out a watering plan for the next few years to help plants get well-established early on, and to keep me on schedule. I felt very comfortable talking with and asking her questions, and discussing the financial burden of a landscape overhaul. She was very conscientious of my goals and my concerns. Lydia is a great listener, and is very creative; she has a vast knowledge of native plants, how to utilize and support gardens in our local climate, and encourage natural ecosystems to thrive. She is able to think outside of the box and considers unique situations as a positive challenge. Lydia was always on time to our meetings, and able to be flexible to accommodate my work schedule. It was always easy to reach her via email, text, or a phone call throughout the summer when I had any questions or concerns. We also did a fall check-in and wrap-up, with a winter walk-through and touch-up. Lydia Cox is a highly qualified landscape designer and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Radish Gardens for all your garden and landscaping needs, big or small!"”

She did an incredible job of recommending a beautiful plant design, purchasing the plants and materials and overseeing the installation as well as the soil preparation.
