He designed a beautiful, stepped waterfall that leads into a greatly enlarged pond to accommodate our large koi that had outgrown our previous pond. We are very satisfied with his services, the design is beautiful, does not require too much tending and does not require too much watering. The hardscape with blue stone that he did was also really well done and he brought some large boulders to add to the design. When they were done with the project, they left everything clean. “When the Tubbs fire destroyed our Fountaingrove home in October 2017, our decision to rebuild necessitated finding a landscape architect who could help us define the vision for the landscape surrounding our new home. We would need someone with an in-depth knowledge of emerging city and county landscaping regulations, including those for properties in a Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) zone, who could design within our budget, and could work collaboratively with us and with our contractor. After researching and interviewing several landscape architects, we met with April Owens of Habitat Corridor of Sebastopol on a friend’s recommendation. We feel fortunate to have found such a consummate professional.
April was everything we could have hoped for from a landscape architect, listening to and helping shape our ideas, with a focus on California natives and drought-tolerant/fire resistant design. Extremely responsive, budget and quality conscious, she worked closely with us over several months to translate our landscape ideas into a detailed plan that complied with all the new regulations. She also forged an excellent working relationship with our contractor and architect.
When issues arose, April would outline our design options and play devil’s advocate as we considered them. April earned our trust, designed a beautiful, natural landscape to set our home in, and was a pleasure to work with. April and the Habitat Corridor Project have our gratitude and our recommendation.”
