His use of the latest technology insured that was garden would be successful in spite of my challenging property with tall trees all around. John's team, from the construction crew who installed the structure to the horticulturists who helped with the garden planning and planting, were professional and eager to answer all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. Early spring plantings are in and I am looking forward to my first harvest!”

“I contacted Steve Relyea with Red Cedar Landscaping to get some advice on planning out a patio project, and he handed me over to his landscape architect, Mike Boice, who did an outstanding job. We wanted a bar, firepit, hot tub area, and general entertainment space with a grill, and some rock walls! Due to our large area and budget, we told him we had to do stamped concrete, but didn't want it to look like a cement jungle or parking lot. He met with us, we showed him the available space, and he came back with an amazing plan that we would have NEVER dreamed of ourselves! He came back countless times to double check measurements, check on progress, and finally to see the final product. It was SO worth getting a drawing done to have everything done right the first time, making sure we had all of the elements, and more! He was a joy to work with, so patient and genuinely interested throughout the whole process. Steve and Mike were very professional and were always available to help with any questions or issues we had throughout the project. I would highly recommend Mike and Red Cedar to anyone doing a yard project! Trish”

“We needed a retaining wall to prevent erosion and increase the usable space around our garage and backyard. We chose Masseo Landscaping for the job. It was a pretty big job in a difficult, confined space but Mark Masseo and his crew did a great job. They were polite and professional, mindful of the neighbors along our shared driveway and always left the job site safe and tidy when they left for the day. Mark is very hands on and was always available when we had questions…every time I called I got Mark, not his voicemail. He even took the time to explain the work to our neighbors so that everyone felt great about the project, not just us. Our new neighbor actually sent us an email thanking us for the care we put into the project. Of course we welcomed the email but it was really a compliment for Mark!”

“We hired Erin three years ago to start a long-term landscaping project that included an 1800 square foot deck, outdoor shower, jacuzzi, carport, fire pit, and outdoor storage. Very ambitious. She has been all we hoped for and more. She is timely, efficient, and does things the right way. There are no shortcuts taken in the planting process. She uses quality people who plant properly and to her exact specifications. My plants have all come back and look magnificent after a long, hard winter. My carport is the prize of our project and it is modern and beautiful. She is an excellent collaborator and was open to my ideas. We really saw eye to eye during the entire planning process and she understood and enhanced my aesthetic. Her plans are easy to read and she is great with a planning board. She is an absolute pleasure in every way. I highly recommend her.”

“Our experience with Old Farms was outstanding. They are meticulous in their approach and take great pride in their work. We installed front walkways and new trees/shrubs and as work was about to start, asked Bruce if he could help us to design a backyard landscape to fit with a pool that we had decided to put in. Bruce and his team worked with us to modify the project on the fly - doubling the scope of the work and the time needed. For most firms, this would have been a problem but Bruce is a true professional and his team is exceptional. The design was beautiful and the work was beyond our expectations. Each day we'd throw a curve at Bruce and he'd listen and advise and find ways to make it work. We've hired more than a dozen contractors at our home in Northern CT over the years and honestly, this is the nicest most capable group of people we have ever worked with.”
