“Sally’s brief began with the lighting, but very soon extended to engaging her services for every aspect of the interior design of our home. It was obvious early on that having Sally involved throughout would produce a much more sophisticated result in a lot less time and would also save us money in the long run. We aren’t confidant or experienced decorators so it was enormously helpful to have Sally guide us. Sally really appreciated the unique nature of our home and its environs and somehow understood the approach we wanted to take. She has a remarkable design aesthetic and was able to translate our feelings and thoughts about how we wanted our place to look into something real and tangible that we now enjoy and are grateful for every single day. Sally is really wonderful to work with. She is a genuinely lovely person that takes a lot of pride and care in her design work; big or small. Having Sally help us made the process of decorating our home enjoyable: not stressful in any way. I would and do recommend Sally to everyone that is considering doing some interior design work.”

“It has been an absolute pleasure engaging with Jung in designing our two townhouses. One of which we live in with our two boys. Jung came and spent time respectfully getting to know the feel of what we want for our home and our tastes before making any suggestions! She then came up with amazing ideas for our living areas and bedrooms, reflecting my tastes perfectly. Jung was involved in designing the working drawings for our houses, choosing colors for the interiors, and helping us choose furniture. Jung’s use of space was mind blowing in providing practical interior solutions and making the most of the space for our needs such as creating extra room and storage which added great value to our townhouses. “Jo at Style and Harmony styled our house beautifully to prepare it for sale. Her sound advice, thorough detailing of what would work best in each room and professionalism meant we were comfortable with her choices and confident approaching auction time. She provided furniture and styling throughout our house, the main items including chairs, rugs, artwork, couches, tv unit, console and a dining setting, as well as accessories. The entire process completely took the anxiety out of the pre-auction phase and we could not have been happier with the services she provided, with her professionalism and with the end product - a house that sold for well over the amount expected and looked exquisite. “I originally approached Sally for advice on optimising the functionality of the outdoor space so that it became an extra room. The interior of my home is small and therefore I really needed another area to entertain. The workmanship on the decking is immaculate! I would't have thought to use the picture frame boarder but I admire it every time I am in the space. The next stage will be to plant out the garden beds, which Sally is also helping to arrange when I am ready. I have also always wanted plantations shutters, but thought they were out of my budget. Sally was able to use her industry contacts to obtain a price that was considerably less than the direct quote I received! I am so happy with the affordability, professionalism and genuine care that Substance Within Design and Sally herself have delivered. I would not hesitate to recommend working with Sally on your next project!”

“The architects unimaginative design coupled with partly unworkable documentation which lacked interior details, pushed the renovation and extension of our en-suite into trouble. Fortunately, we took Marc Dietrich on board to remedy the situation and avert an unfavourable outcome. He made some doable and affordable changes to the floor plan which allowed him to redesign the interior for a very pleasing outcome. He worked closely with the builder to achieve it in a timely and cost-effective manner. The builder was happy to work with him and liked his attention to detail and help to resolve some problems they ran into during the construction caused by the existing structure. Since working with Marc, we have engaged him again for some large custom joinery items in our lounge and family room. Thanks again Marc for your excellent and pleasing work!”
