“My husband and I worked with Davis Home Pro on an extensive remodel of our 2,000 sq/ft home in Orinda. We took everything down to the studs and DHP did all new electrical, plumbing, dry wall, flooring, etc. Everyone we talked to cautioned us that our project would likely go way over budget and way over schedule. To our delight, this was not the case. DHP worked within our budget and provided alternatives when we need to cut costs. They were extremely up front with us from the get go and we knew exactly how much we were spending and when we went over budget it was our choice - not because we were forced into it or misled. Perhaps more importantly (we were expecting our first baby in the middle of this project), they were ON TIME. These two factors make them 5 stars in my opinion. I would say the quality of their work is very high. We have experienced some minor issues, like doors scraping floors or counters needing additional caulking. But DHP was quick to resolve during our 1-year warranty agreement. In addition to all this, Jason, Richard, Pete and team were a pleasure to work with. Extremely pro active and really nice people. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for jobs big and small.”

“Johanne is fabulous! She provided me with a full color consult both in my office and home. I am so happy with the colors she suggested, and never would have been able to make choices this perfect on my own. Johanne was prepared and patient when working with my husband and I, and took the time to give us suggestions to improve our home. We also hired her to sew together custom drapes for our bedroom. After searching high and low for curtains for our bedroom, Johanne suggested we purchase fabric and she make what we need. The project was much less expensive than we had anticipated, and the results were even more beautiful than we had expected. I never thought working with a designer was in my budget, but Johanne proved me wrong. Her prices are reasonable and very worth the cost of her expertise. My work space and home are absolutely perfect thanks to Project Guru!”

“Hiring Wayne Christian to do our kitchen remodel was the absolute best decision we made in the entire project. We had to bury a 17 foot steel I-beam in the ceiling to hold up the 2nd story of our house in order to remove a wall that opened up our space. There were many obstacles in doing this, including routing of electrical, plumbing vents, and venting of our exhaust hood to the outside. Wayne always had a solution and discussed options with us. Despite the additional time involved to do some of this, he was extremely fair with change orders and we never felt "nickeled and dimed." He worked very well with other parties including the kitchen designer, the cabinet installer, and the granite fabricator/installer so that led to a minimum of problems during the job. He works alone (although sometimes with his son Andrew in the summer) so if you are looking for the fastest job, look elsewhere. But he was diligent in keeping our job moving forward with very few days that he had to go to another client/project. Wayne is a terrific person, very creative, very meticulous, and always conscious of minimizing the disruption on us. We feel he has become a friend, plus someone we would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. All-in-all, it was the best experience we've ever had with a remodeling contractor. Highly recommended! “I LOVED working with Moore Design. I first hired Michelle Moore when I wanted to remodel my bathroom. I thought I knew what I wanted, but didn't have the technical expertise to deal with plumbing, electricity etc. She brought so much more to the table. I was able to do everything I wanted, along with being "green" in the design and it turned out beautifully! In fact, I loved working with her so much, that when the time came to redo my kitchen and family room, I hired her to do it. The result is fantastic! I have already told her that she'll be doing my next house as well.”

“Barb was an essential part of our remodel. Without her I would have ripped my hair out. She got my design taste and style. She is full service from reinventing spaces to ordering closet pulls. Barb is capable of working within any budget and go as high end as you need. She is resourceful. I showed her a picture of a barn door and she found me an affordable one. One stop shop!!!! She is kind, professional and has a pocket full of people for referrals if you need them. I would work with her again in a heartbeat.”

“We hired Toupin Construction to remove our master bathroom bathtub and install a stall shower and a stackable washer/dryer in its place. We had two additional quotes from other contractors and we felt Toupin Construction's quote was comparable in price but offered more in terms of aesthetics and prior experience with this type of remodel. From the beginning of the project to the final touches, the Toupin crew were wonderful. They were on time. They were respectful of our home and always cleaned up before they left for the day. If we had any concerns, they addressed them immediately. Each evening, we received a phone call from their office outlining what would happen the next day. Owner Tim Toupin stopped in almost every day to monitor the project's progress. These personal touches really meant a lot to us and made the project stay on schedule and run smoothly.
