“Charlie and Susan Johnson with Kitchen Tune-up are experts in kitchen and bath remodeling! The owners are easygoing, patient and wonderful people that listen and care about their client's happiness. Both spent countless hours in helping our family in planning and designing our outdated 80's kitchen and bathrooms. They had great ideas in modifying our cabinetry in making our kitchen more spacious and practical for everyday comfort and use. Their ideas on modifying and resurfacing our old and tired cabinetry took the dated kitchen to a new and modern marvel while saving us so much money that we were able to update both our bathrooms as well while allowing more money for upgrades on countertops and other areas of the rooms. Their crew was respectful, wonderful craftsmen that were attentive to every detail and very neat and cleaned up every workday. Charlie and Susan are very involved with their client's satisfaction and are often on site to check on various projects. We now have a brand new modern looking kitchen and bathrooms at less than half the cost of buying and installing new cabinets. “Our kitchen remodel consisted of new quartz for countertops, island, bar, and desk, beveled subway tile backsplash, marble picture framed behind stove top, granite sink, faucet, painted cabinets and walls, new hardware. Any corrections needed were handled expeditiously and courteously. Very pleased with Alissa’s professionalism and knowledge with installers and helping to choose paint colors and painters. We are very happy with the remodel and that we chose the consummate professional for the job. It is so helpful to have One professional to design, recommend, buy, and install with superior quality and professionalism.”

“I hired River Valley Builders to finish out our garage and turn it into a laundry/mud room. We were given estimates from several contractors in the area and River Valley was the most willing to do what we needed. Our project was initially supposed to take 5 weeks, but ended up taking 10. It came out exactly how I wanted it to and exceeded most of our expectations. We came in on budget and River Valley was willing to cut a few costs that were above what we originally discussed.”

“replace double gate with new 5x5 gate with no sag hinges, heavy duty latches and drop rods Remove single gate move to other side of house frame new section install no sag hinges, drop rod and latches. Screw down loose pickets, replace all damage pickets, and framing post. clean up Estimate given and work done in a timely manner. Employees always on time respectful, helpful with any concerns or questions. The best part total owed was UNDER ESTIMATE! A State will always be the first place to call when I need any work done, no matter how large or small. I can always depend on them. If they cannot do what I need they will always recommend someone else.”

“Jim Scroggin is a top-flight cabinet maker, a perfectionist who will not stop until every aspect of the project is completed perfectly to his professional standards. He remodeled my 1960s kitchen and one bathroom and I was very pleased with everything he did. Nothing about my kitchen was plumb, yet he managed to refurbish all my cabinets in total alignment. He made cost-saving suggestions, and had great ideas for increasing the amount of storage space, and making things more convenient. Jim completed the projects on time, cleaned up after his work was done, and several years later, everything he did has stood the test of time. He designed a pantry with pull-out shelves where my wall oven had been, and made lower cabinets into drawers for easy access. Several upper cabinet doors were redesigned with frosted glass fronts which updated the look of my kitchen and made it seem larger.”
