“In the past twelve months, I undertook a major renovation of my home. This was the first time I was involved in a project of this size. The project called for a gut renovation of a majority of the house (while my three sons and I continued to live in the home). This included a complete redesign of the entire first floor (kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom) which involved the removal of a major load bearing wall. We also gut renovated the master bath (adding a laundry closet) and a hall bath on the second floor while redesigning the master bedroom and all common areas of the house. Merri's knowledge of floor layout and modern design concepts allowed for a project with a number of unique twists to come together on time and within the original budget. Merri was flexible in providing advice and guidance on the project while also being careful to incorporate my ideas. She has the ability to take the thoughts/concepts of a client and turn them into reality in the project. My experience is this is not a universal ability for all designers. She was always sure to listen to my requests and take the time to point out the issues these requests can have on the project including timing and budget ramifications. Finally, Merri worked well with a number of subs on the job to be sure that they were following her design concept while the project advanced from the rip out to finish stages. I was highly impressed with her and I continued to use her expertise on the finish work including color design, drapery suggestions as well as furniture and carpeting choices. “Our condo was leaking internally along one wall, and we had Shafayet come out to look at the leaks and give us a quote on restuccoing the outside wall. Shafayet was extremely professional and fairly priced - around $6,000 for one wall, with 30 year window caulking included. It took a few months to decide on who we were going to go with, and in that timeframe Shafayet was very responsive to all of my questions and requests. We ended up hiring him and his team started about 2 weeks later. They finished the job within 2 weeks and were very accommodating, especially with the way we access our backyard (only the 1st floor apt has access to the yard, so everyone had to use the basement window to get to the backyard). Our building is a 3 unit condo and while I was the main contact for Shafayet, he still worked with the other 2 owners and listened to their questions/requests. I would definitely recommend Multi Construction Company, and I would hire them again. So far no leaks along that wall, and we have had a few storms since they finished.”

Renee did a wonderful job helping us design our kitchen so that it functions well, and is stunningly beautiful. I showed her a photo of a kitchen that I loved the "feel" of, and she was able to give us the same feel without copying the individual elements of the kitchen I admired, and we were able to incorporate many custom features that are particularly useful to our family and lifestyle. Also, I was impressed that our kitchen is a very different style from other kitchens she has designed, reflecting my husband's and my taste. She has a wonderful eye for color and style, and was able to guide us and tell us if she thought something we liked might not look right (and she was correct). Ken manages his subcontractors very well, so that the construction schedule runs smoothly and the project is finished in a timely manner. Also, the quality of the people he hires is very high, and I was very comfortable having them in my home without supervision.”

We had no familiarity with the company, but we were immediately impressed by both their thoroughness and professionalism. Despite some hiccups with inspections and permits, they handled all issues without a hassle or effort. I was also impressed with the overall quality of the subcontractors who were used. There were some minor issues that cropped up, but Joe immediately attended to them and ensured we were satisfied before signing off on the project. There were no corners cut. At the end of the day, everything was done right. I would be happy to use them for other projects. You can't take for granted having a comfort level with a G.C.”
