“We hired Vlada to renovate a 1070's bathroom with worn vanity and PINK tile in one of our single family rental houses. The agreement was for him to do all demolition and replace the flooring and walls. In addition, he was to convert a useless hall closet into a useful series of shelves in the new bathroom. The results were spectacular--so much so that we hired him to renovate a second bathroom and to enclose a window and reconstruct part of a wall in another rental house. We then asked him to "spruce up" a third bathroom in a third house and could not believe our eyes when we saw what he accomplished with only a bit of drywall compound, caulking, and paint! It was hard to believe it was the same bathroom. We fear we might working against our best interests in writing this review because we intend to hire Vlada for all future real estate improvements and hope he'll not become so busy he won't have time for all the work we have in our single family rental home business. We are NEW AGAIN HOMES with a BBB rating of A+ which means we can't afford to write exaggerated reviews that would damage our own reputation. you can trust our word when we say Vlada will be the "go to" person for us for so long as we have renovation projects to be done. Our own home will be the next venue on the list of projects for which we intend to hire Vlada. And by the way, he's an exceptionally nice person with quite reasonable rates! He's fast, which is extremely important in our business, and he's also 100% dependable. He comes up with creative solutions to "sticky" problems and turns eyesores into items of beauty! “Hurst has done two remodels for us. The first was in 2006 and included a complete kitchen remodel including granite countertops, wood floors and all upscale appliances. The wall between the kitchen and dining room was taken out and the dining room was made twice the original size with an addition that included changing the roof line, new beams, tray ceiling with lighted crown molding and bay window with bench seat including storage. The wood floors continued from the kitchen. A bedroom was added on the lower level under the dining room addition. We were and are very happy with the work and especially the workmanship. The attention to detail on the part of all the workman meant the finished dining room addition and kitchen are beautiful to look at and functional and fun to use. Our second project with Hurst was in 2008 when we updated all the bathrooms with beautiful granite, tile, new sinks, faucets and hardware. The shower was torn out completely and rebuilt as a walk-in shower which we love. Grab bars and a perfect shower floor for safety are wonderful and the plumber located the shower controls so that you don't have to step in to the shower to turn it on. Again, we appreciated the leader of the project and all the attention to detail. The young plumber was fantastic! Hurst has done several small outside jobs for us including pouring new entryway steps and adding railings. We are just ready to put our home on the market as we are moving West to be closer to all our grandchildren. We will miss all these wonderful improvements but know they will really add value to our home and make it desireable in the "sea of homes" on the market! We have recommended Hurst to our friends and recently saw a kitchen granite countertop job that our friends are very pleased with and it looks fantastic. “The Best Company!!! I've done many different projects with Alex within last 15 years. He painted my house inside and outside, refinished the hardwood floors of the entire house, finished many plumbing, electrical and carpentry projects, remodeled my bathroom, installed Jacuzzi tub, installed de-icing cables on my roof, made vents from the kitchen and bathroom through the roof, moved ducts to another location, installed motion sensors in our bathroom, replaced garage door opener, etc. You name it - he did it. My Bathroom is the work of art! You can see the dolphin he designed for me and curved from black granite and white marble on his web site. He even made dolphin eye winking when I enter the bathroom by putting a little light in the dolphin eye. Within all those 15 years I never even tried to call anybody else. If I need to clean gutters, or to replace faucet or dishwasher; or to install micro-hood - Alex is there for me. He is a wonderful person and easy to talk to about anything. He knows a lot about construction and does all his work according to national specifications which are always in his truck and ready to be shown to customers at their request. He never does any shortcuts in his work and whatever he does it lasts forever. His business card is always on my fridge and if I have emergency I can call his number at any time. He is reliable contractor and the only contractor for me.”

“In November 2014, Ohio Cabinets (part of A-to-Z Construction) built us a custom frameless cabinet wall with storage and a paneled recess to accommodate our king bed. The cabinet wall includes built-in reading lights, bookshelves, and drop-door trays to serve as sleek nightstands. We are THRILLED with the job Ohio Cabinets did and how their top-quality work transformed our bedroom into something that looks like a five-star hotel room. Working with Ed (the owner) as well as the staff was an absolute pleasure because they're all smart and experienced carpenters. The cabinet wall they built for us is a sleek and modern frameless design with slab doors and hidden latches (and no handles), and Ed was able to work out the nitty-gritty details (such as the edging and molding design, etc.) without hassling us or assuming too much about our taste, either. The design is 100% for the space and layout of our room, and just $1,000 more than we were planning to pay for semi-custom ... for something that's PERFECT. I also appreciate that Ed warned us from the beginning that I would need to wait five weeks for the cabinets, and then he would need access to our home for two full days. That's EXACTLY how it went down ... everything on schedule, and none of the typical contractor delays. I felt totally comfortable with leaving Ed and his quality team in charge of the wiring detials for the electrified portion of our cabinets. I also felt comfortable with leaving the Ohio Cabinet team alone in our house, because they are a trustworthy bunch as well. My favorite part about the cabinet wall is how the Ohio Cabinet team perfectly matched and finished the wood grain (we picked Ginger-stained cherry with a satin finish) and so beautifully finished the panel that goes behind our bed to match. The wood just shimmers. Breathtaking quality work. Perfection all the way. I'm so pleased that I found Ohio Cabinets to build something I've dreamed about having for our home for so many years.”

“Let me begin by stating that you will look long and hard to find a craftsman like Rick Childs of RC Carpentry. His work is absolutely impeccable. If you want the job done on time, in the most professional manner you've ever experienced, and with no hassles ..... RC Carpentry is your best bet. My wife and I had Rick redo a portion of our master bathroom and a complete basement job. Rick helped us with our design layout (two tiered bar, theater room, billiards area, workout room, storage space, custom bath), many upgrades, and the project turned out flawlessly. He has a great eye for layout and he and his team pay the greatest attention to detail. They also clean up their workspace every night and went as far as vacuuming our floors, the entire basement, and wiping down the entire space before leaving every evening. Their attention to detail is absolutely amazing and I fealt as though they treated my home as they would their own. During our project, there were no surprises and the communication was terrific the entire time. We did make some alterations during the process, but Rick and his team were flexible and helped us keep track of these with mutually agreed-upon change orders. The final bill was a non-event as we were both on the same page. Finally - the enitire project was completed on time !!! (A virtual rarity for contracted projects). In closing - all of the skilled trades that came to our home during Rick's management of our project were amazing. You could count on Rick being there day in and day out (yes, Rick and his team never missed a day of production at our home during the project - no delays, no rescheduling .... nothing like this at all) to manage the flow of work, but EVERYONE we came in contact with during the job were high quality craftsman and highly skilled in their respective trades (drywall, plumbing, tile work, painting, granite work, cabinetry). They were all friendly, cordial, on-time, and their work was all rock solid. If you want the job done right, in a manner you'd be proud of in the end, on time, with zero hassles; don't give it one more thought.
