“Darek Janczy of DJ Construction recently completed a comprehensive remodel of my 2,433 sqft house in Pacific Grove. The project included replacing all windows, flooring, and doors; removing 1970’s “popcorn” ceilings; installing overhead LED lighting in all rooms; expanding the outdoor deck; knocking down old walls and building new ones; reconfiguring the front entry; replacing all fixtures; repainting the exterior and interior; strengthening the foundation; and creating a stunning new open kitchen with a 10-foot island. Darek’s skill in all aspects of construction is evident everywhere in my house, as are his thoughtfulness and attention to detail. In addition, he possesses such positive qualities as honesty, integrity, and reliability. Most of my project was done while I was out of town, but Darek and his crew could always be trusted to show up every day and stay on schedule, within budget. Whenever an unplanned event occurred (such as asbestos in old ceilings and termites in one bathroom wall), Darek always found an efficient, cost-effective solution. One of the many reasons I enjoyed working with Darek is his ability to tune in quickly to my tastes and preferences. Whenever he had to make a design choice without me, it was always the choice I would have made myself. Striving for perfection and demonstrating his strong work ethic, Darek always went the extra mile. Over the years I have worked with many contractors on both new builds and remodels, but Darek stands out from all the rest. In addition to being very pleasant to work with, his creativity and quality of work are second to none; and I wholeheartedly recommend him for any construction project.”
