“John Santos gave our 1989 master bath a much needed facelift. The dated, seldom-used whirlpool tub was removed and replaced with a fabulous custom spa shower. The former tiny shower was removed and replaced with a lovely open linen closet -- inspired by a photo we found on houzz.com! The 6x6 floor tiles were replaced with 20x20 tiles. We could not be more pleased!!! John had great ideas but also worked within our budget and timeframe. I highly recommend Santos Tile.”

“Nice guy and conscientious person doesn't begin to describe Chris. He is very dedicated, works unbelievably hard to make sure things get done. Chris made many recommendations on different ways I might consider the installations, he recognized what was important to me and came up with changes suchas a curbless shower entry and trim recommendations. I, unfortunately, ordered cabinets from Lowes (big mistake) but hired Chris for everything else. Lowes continually screwed up and I still am having conversations with them about completing repairs of damages they caused. However, Chris worked really hard to accomplish the rest of the project. Chris would come in behind each portion of the Lowes installation and finish the rest. What should have taken a month took four but Chris at each Lowes completion came in and did whatever portion he could immediately so I could get into my home. Chris came back after each of his various installers (floor, tile, granite, plumber and electrician) to insure their work was properly done and if there was something not quite right he would take care of it, even if that meant working into the evening. Committed, dedicated, creative, talented overall professional.”

Wake Remodeling

“When we started the process of picking a contractor, I have to admit, I was quite nervous. I am an avid watcher of HGTV's Mike Holmes' shows, Holmes on Homes and Holmes Inspection. I've seen over and over on the show people selecting what they thought was an excellent contractor, only to get screwed in the end out of money and a livable space. We received several estimates, and found three whose price was acceptable and the plan was acceptable. (It seemed impossible to get an exact apples-to-apples price comparison because each had some "good idea" that wasn't in the others.) In the end we chose Wake Remodeling because of our checking of their references, our perception of their flexibility, their stated willingness to do whatever would make us satisfied, and our gut feeling of their professionalism and character. We just had a feeling that Wake Remodeling was, as Mike Holmes would say, "one of the good guys." ...and he was. The design was great. The materials we chose were great. The workmanship was great.”

“Bryce Jahner of Haven designed our new bathroom, and we love it ! He was great at outlining the whole process, helping us choose materials, and communicating the expected timeline. His team worked super hard at tearing up the old floor, which had level of cement under the tile. They artfully laid new tile for the floor and shower, and coordinated all aspects of the renovation. It is much brighter and looks like a larger room with the new layout.”

“Finding skilled craftsmen who enjoy their work and take pride in it has become a rare treat, and I can't recommend these guys enough! When all was said and done: The only sign left behind was the new, perfectly fit, shower door. I spent a lot of time ogling photos of the detailed work on Facebook and their webpage. Unfortunately, I am not one of those clients. No fancy angles for me, just a straight slider. You wouldn't have known that I'm not a "million dollar client" from the way I was treated. They were patient with my timeline (life happens). They're a small business and are keeping busy. If they can't answer the phone right when you call, leave a message, text or send an email. They're quick to respond and WORTH IT. Their web store is very well designed and I was able to give Robin and Robert a general idea of my layout, what I wanted, and the budget I had to work with. I owe Robin a BIG 'thank you' for having the integrity and intestinal fortitude to warn someone who was only a potential client that she was about to make a huge mistake! My initial idea was to put two 14" benches on either side...because I thought that's 'just how things are done these days'. Everyone else (plumbers, general contractor, and tile guys) said nothing. Mia Shower doors would have had a bigger ticket install if they had also kept silent while I had those benches installed. Robin took one look at my specs., stuck her neck out and told me: "get a friend, two 5gallon buckets, and go into that space with them". She was absolutely right. It would have been terrible! If you've not done a shower enclosure installation before, whoever you're working with should be adamant about taking measurements themselves, and only after all the tile work is finished. Mia does this. I thought "that's nice, they're obsessive about attention to detail". It wasn't just that. Not all walls are perfectly plumb from top to bottom (especially after tile work). They showed up to take detailed measurements with a 4' long level and digital angle finder to make sure everything fit perfectly. On installation day they were careful to lay out floor and ground coverings everywhere they were working and minimize back & forth traffic. Throughout the whole process they were pleasant to deal with and very conscientious! After dealing with gouging contractors who inflate prices and resent inquiry, tile guys that think cutting a straight line is 'premium work' and all the other assorted headaches I was just about ready to burn my house down and call it a day. Working with Robert & Robin was a much needed breath of fresh air.”

“We hired Joe to do a laundry room remodel for us that involved essentially moving our washer and dryer from a small side room off our kitchen to a new room upstairs to be dedicated to laundry, but needing to be outfitted with W/D hookups/plumbing, flooring, electrical, and cabinets/counters for storage and folding space. With a baby on the way, we were both budget conscious and under some time constraints. Joe met our needs for our budget without sacrificing attention to detail or quality. And, although our project was small in comparison to many of the larger home remodels Joe often does, he always made us feel like our project was equally as important. He was able to start almost immediately and complete the project in a matter of weeks. In addition, Joe and his crew were hardly disruptive as they worked primarily while we were at work for the day and always cleaned up prior to leaving, although Joe kept us well informed with updates as things progressed. We are very pleased with the final product and would not hesitate to hire him again in the future.”
