“After receiving several estimates to turn our attic into a master bedroom suite with a bathroom, we went with Thomas Custom Builders (TCB). They did not provide the cheapest estimate we received, but they were extremely professional, provided the most thorough information, seemed focused on doing things right, and we were really comfortable working with them and communicating with them. We are extremely happy we went with TCB. The renovation process hasn't been perfect - which is really not possible - but TCB has been excellent at finding solutions to the unforeseen things we could not anticipate. More importantly, they do things the right way and are honest about what is going on and what needs to be done. This was our first renovation, so we asked a ton of questions, but the entire TCB team always took the time to talk us through stuff and answer any questions we had. Lastly, the quality of their work is superb. We've had some neighbors over throughout the process who have gone through several renovations and they commented that they could tell TCB were true craftsmen based on the quality of their work. I would highly recommend their services and will hire them for any renovation work we do in the future.”

Nick worked with my husband and I to design a kitchen that included removing a wall to double the size, and created plans with 3-D views that allowed us to visualize our new kitchen. “Chris helped us with the renovation of our home 7 years ago. He is knowledgeable about both building and design so it was basically one stop shopping. If I had an idea about a fixture or design choice, I could text or email ideas to him and he would get right back to me right away with his opinion. All of the crew were top notch- pleasant and hard working. He also has excellent plumbers, electricians, roofers etc. lined up to work on his projects. The only negative, which turned out to be a positive, was that Chris pushed me to do things that at the time I wanted to save money by skipping. In the end I was so happy he had given me that extra nudge. We now have a beautiful home that I love living in and that our friends always compliment. Isaac had not joined the team when we worked with Chris, but I know him to be hard working family man.”

“Mr. Dowell has earned our highest recommendation as an outstanding master craftsman, a contractor of high integrity, and a very nice man to boot. We first worked with Robert about 15 years ago to develop plans for extensive built-ins for our library, when our project was derailed by a major home disaster. When we finally got back around to our plans for the library just recently, the first place we went was Mr. Dowell. He not only remembered us, he had saved the plans and we were able to move ahead with the very elegant and functional project he developed for us over a decade ago. He had done built-ins for others in our neighborhood, so we had excellent references. But to be sure, we did check with others on price and quality, and overall his prices were not only highly competitive, but the quality of his work was better than many other highly respected cabinet manufacturers. Don’t expect a rush job – Mr. Dowell takes his time and does it right, and the result for us was simply outstanding. This caliber of work is virtually unseen today. We not only don’t have any complaints, I just wish I could find a craftsman of his caliber every time I needed work at the house. He is superb, and we will seek to use him again on a couple of other projects we have in mind, and are happy to serve as a reference.”

“Our choice of a contractor to come in and redo our kitchen and master bathroom came down to two candidates. We ultimately went with Teakwood Enterprises, who was slightly more expensive, but WAY worth it. Not only were all of the workers respectful and professional, but a pleasure to talk to! The whole crew was just really nice. And the job lead was incredibly particular about details for the project. He enjoyed design and shared some of his thoughts with us as we were telling him what we wanted done. We quickly learned to trust his judgment with things like tile patterns and layouts. We loved his design ideas and approved all of them. What was cool, though, was we could tell he wasn't being pushy. And none of them came with additional cost - he just wanted the project to look nice. And it does! These guys did amazing work, and we're so happy we chose him. If there's any future projects we need done, we will definitely be calling Teakwood Enterprises first.”
