We needed a variance to be allowed to obtain the proper permits and John Liptak, owner of Oakwood was instrumental in obtaining this on our behalf. Without his personal interest in our renovation, we would not have proceeded with the project. John also gave us the benefit of his years of experience with various suggestions for our room. Our design specialist was wonderful, offering many unique ideas for us to consider, always offering various solutions to meet our budget. We particularly love the windows and paneling in our great room. The quality of the work was top notch. The wood craftsman assigned to our project did an exceptional job on the ceiling beams and the paneling. Dave’s work makes this room so beautiful and unique. The project manager was very knowledgeable and worked on our behalf to make sure that all the little details were dealt with to our satisfaction. Trent was very responsive to our needs and concerns. We can speak to Oakwood’s integrity and professionalism. They wanted the addition to be a room that we would be take pleasure and pride in for many years to come. Their work was excellent, with a new ceiling and moulding that is harmonious with the rest of the house. The decision relating to the moulding was collaborative. “Carolyn Munro has extensive 30 years experience in designing and building and it showed on our kitchen renovation. By moving the location of the refrigerator, she made our kitchen look 3 feet wider! She also brought the wall behind our stove out 4 inches and created a beautiful mosaic design behind our slide-in stove that is an outstanding focal point in our kitchen. The kitchen went from gutting it to final delivery in under 4 weeks. She and her crew work very neatly and cleaned up each work day which was important to us since we were living in the house during the renovation. She also got us new stone tiling down the centre of our house and into the powder room and laundry room, hardwood in the dining room and living room, and renovated the powder room. She found us new ceiling light fixtures for the hallway, recommended larger baseboards, and new paint colours. This took only 2 extra weeks. We are thrilled with our gorgeous kitchen and feel like we're living in a new home! We highly recommend Carolyn Munro Design-Build. She and her team are very professional and easy to work with!”
