“We hired LZL for two huge projects to improve our four-story, 1905 Craftsman home in Seattle, and each time we felt mildly bereft when their crew left, because they'd come to feel like family. First they gutted and remodeled our enormous kitchen, turning it into the most beautiful and functional kitchen I've ever seen. (This is not an exaggeration.) The next year they restored the living room, an adjoining office, and transformed a rickety, add-on greenhouse structure into a second office and reading space. Both times, LZL began work on the day they promised and finished exactly on the day they promised. They accomplished this miracle because they have an organizer/estimator who choreographs a team of sub contractors like a ballet, a project manager who listens closely to what the owner wants and runs the job every day, and an incredibly responsive owner who met with us every week to be sure the job was running smoothly. Then there were the bonus extras: the LZL team cleaned up at the end of each day; they mourned with us when our dog died because they'd welcomed his supervision; they cared about the quality of the work as much as we did; and they were simply lovely people to have around each day. But much to my amazement, the end of these major projects wasn't the end of our relationship. When we had to sell our beloved house for health reasons, several repairs had to be done to meet the buyer's contingencies in parts of the house LZL had not worked on. Even though they had a full load of other jobs, LZL employees we knew rushed to the rescue and worked overtime to meet every contingency - simply because they cared about us and about our beautiful old house. We will always feel grateful to LZL for their warmth, their honesty, and their craftsmanship. I can't imagine a better company to work with and to trust.
