“We hired Strobel Design Build for two projects: 1. rebuild an enclosed sunroom into an open front porch (Fall of 2012); 2. rebuild/remodel kitchen (currently in progress). We choose Strobel Design Build for the rebuild/remodel of the kitchen after the excellent job on the rebuild of the front porch. In both cases, Don Strobel sat down with us to discuss the design of both projects, took time to discuss material options, and gave us a schedule regarding each step of the process. He listened to our expectations and assisted us in fine tuning the details that fit within our budget. Don Strobel's experience and knowledge was invaluable when finializing the details on both projects. Due to the fact that our house was built in the 1930's, adjustments were made as needed when structural issues arose. Don is hands-on and checks on the work of his workers/subcontractors on a continual basis. It is the expectation of Don Strobel that all workers/subcontractors are professional, courteous, efficient, and provide high quality workmanship. In addition, the area is cleaned after each day of construction. The front porch is beautiful and we have received many compliments by the neighbors. The kitchen rebuild/remodel (with approximately 3 weeks until finished) is exceeding our expectations. We are extremely pleased with the workmanship and professionalism of Strobel Design Build and would highly recommend Don Strobel and Strobel Design Build for any construction project.”

“They renovated our kitchen, and transformed it from tremendously outdated into a beautiful Midcentury Modern galley kitchen. We used white shaker upper cabinets and really dark base cabinets with a classic white quartz counter top. Its very simple and beautiful. The project was well within budget and the delivery was on time, despite the several changes WE introduced! I absolutely recommend them!”

We were lucky to have Raleigh for a contractor. He did a great job and stayed in good communication throughout the project. He wasn’t one of those contractors you hear about who doesn’t answer calls or stops showing up. Also, we had a specific look we wanted for the house. “We could not have been more delighted with the renovation done in our home by Jacobsen Custom Builders. Their attention to detail at every stage of the job was matched by their ability to see how each detail fit into the project as a whole. JCB was offered a complex project of incorporating an additional ½ bath as well as reconfiguring entry and exits to a master suite and building a master closet within the perimeters of a historical home. They offered excellent suggestions and ideas that we had not considered. Brett was a warm and welcome fixture on site and treated every step of the work on our house as if it were his own. The trades people were outstanding and Brett coordinated their work beautifully. We are grateful for their expertise as well as their good will. Phone calls and emails were responded to promptly and we definitely got the feeling that JCB cared about this project and our satisfaction.”

“This is the second job that Rich Allen with Farrell Home Services has managed for us. Our kitchen, hopelessly out of date, inefficient and claustrophobic was in dire need of a remodel. Two walls were demolished, and a lowered ceiling with flourscent lighting with a fan in the center was removed and raised. The kitchen was extended approximately 5 feet, and opened to our great room. Old Jalousie windows were replaced as well. Design of the kitchen took a while, but Rich and his crew were patient as we made changes as the design took place. We wanted to be sure that it was the right design for the space and our needs. We were always given choices and issues with each were explained to us. The allowances we were given were always ample for the choices we had made as to material. The kitchen was ready to use in approximately 5 weeks. Rich's scheduling of subcontractors was excellent. We always knew who was coming and when, and in the correct order so when a job was sheduled it could be completed. He was always aware how difficult it is to live without a kitchen. The punch list was completed timely and to our satisfaction. The project was completed on time, and on budget. We have one other project that needs doing, and when we are ready, we will not hesitate to use Rich and Farrell Home services again.”
