It was then that we learned that they are general contractors of the highest caliber. This year, they invited us to style one of the kitchens they designed (and built) for a photo shoot. And it was the same thing. Amazing work. Our services certainly overlap. We design kitchens too! The point is, we know great work when we see it. “Taylor Bryan designed and built a major kitchen/half bath/mudroom renovation for our 1960's home. They were courteous, knowledgable, creative and wonderful to work with. They listened to our wants and needs and worked with us patiently to come to a design that satisfied both our wants in terms of space and our needs in term of a budget. They also were willing to help us envision a fourth bedroom addition that we will hopefully undertake in the near future. We needed to "see" the whole picture renovation before committing to the first-stage of the renovation and they were willing to do this with us. They also worked with us to figure out a solution of where to put the washer/dryer for we had to move it from its existing space on the first floor for the 1st stage of the renovation but weren't ready to put it where it will eventually go once the second stage of the renovation is complete. They began the project on time, finished on time and the price of the project was exactly the price we agreed upon (to the penny). We would recommend them for sure!!!”

“I couldn't be happier. Mari's suggestions were top-notch, though my wife and I felt the need to look at lots of other stuff before we returned to her original ideas and saw they were best. The materials were superb, everything was as-advertised, her workers were top professionals, the job has gotten oohs and aahs, even from a cynical friend who is "in the business" in a different county. My wife and I, now 6 months later, still stare admiringly at our new kitchen every day and the many perfect little touches, and can find not one tiny little itsy bitsy complaint or suggestion for improvement. It's gorgeous, it was inexpensive for what we got, it was on time. A rave, right? But she deserves it. It's a matter of taste, but I'd recommend what we got: the quaker maple cabinets, light natural wood (as opposed to painted white) and quartz countertops -- all the way to the ceiling, with concave crown moulding making the connection to the ceiling. Looks like a million bucks. Plus, Mari was delightful. Very upbeat and easy to work with.”

“Hudson Valley Sunrooms were FABULOUS. Working with them was one of the easiest renovation projects I have ever done. Very professional, and conscientious to a fault. My sunroom was completed on time, and within budget. ( And it's BEAUTIFUL! ) One of the things that just 'knocked me out' about the company ( and there were many ) was that my sunroom was delivered ( due to trucking problems beyond their control ) at 3am !!! The OWNER of the company showed up ( at 3am ! ) and handled every bit of the unloading, and sorting, Himself. ( Did I mention that there had been an unexpected snowstorm? ) He was there. The next day ( a few hours later ) his very knowledgeable crew showed up and began putting my sunroom together. Three days later, it was DONE. I couldn't be happier. My sunroom is my favorite room in the house, and Hudson Valley Sunrooms still calls periodically to check up, as a courtesy. I'd use them again. No reservations in recommending them to others. BTW... my sunroom is one of the ones in the slideshow... the one with the gargoyle... :-)”

“Jock and his team have now done two big renovation jobs at our house outside Chatham and we are already talking about a third. I wouldn't think of hiring a different builder. The budgeting and billing process is fair and transparent with no rude surprises, the workmanship is flawless, the workmen are great to have around and both jobs have gotten done in exactly the time frame promised. (Having done other jobs with other contractors in other places, believe me, these are words I never thought I would say about any contractor!) When unexpected conditions come up as they always do in renovations of old houses Jock is instantly on the spot to address them. Andrew, Jock's design partner, is gifted and tireless. Though I am now a screenwriter and director I was previously an architect, which makes me not the easiest design client, and both Andrew and Jock have handled my hyper-involved madness with grace and calm. The finished product on both jobs has the glow of work done meticulously and with a deep commitment to getting it exactly right. I give Claverack Builders my highest recommendation.”
