“Before Richard Aitkens was hired, I experienced contractors who did not show up for appointments, those who did failed to provide an estimate within a reasonable time period or at all and who took on multiple projects resulting that they couldn't meet their obligations. Richard Aitken the owner of this company is personally involved in all projects. This past year this contractor raised my house, built new decks, windows and doors. This project involved coordinating various contractors, permits amidst multiple changes with building codes and FEMA flood maps. When I contracted with Aitken I was promised that I would be back into the house by Memorial Day. This contractor had crews on this project daily including weekends to meet this promise. The workmanship is of quality, the staff both in office and on projects are great and knowledgable. Their insurance coordinator was terrific and was able to reopen my claim and negotiate to get covered items reimbursed. This contractor also has house management services for winter coverage as well as smaller projects that occur year round. The only negative is that Richard Aitken Builders/Contractors do not take on work in NY, where my primary residence is located.”
