Working only with a few pictures and the ideas in my head they came up with working drawings from which i gave the go ahead. The finished items were delivered and installed on time and far exceeded my expectations, fit and finish were perfect. “Richard Leather is a first rate carpenter, designer and planner, and certainly the most thoughtful. Any job has opportunities, limits to what may be done, the right methods to be used, the best materials, and challenges. There are always implications in a course of action. Richard has the ability to find the best solution to reach a desired outcome and to avoid difficulties. His planning is meticulous and transparent; he is a very good listener, and will deliver the outcome you want and probably do it better than you could believe possible. If you want quality, this is what you will get. If you want cheap and cheerful, go elsewhere. Like all the best people, he is busy. Be prepared to wait a bit for a space in his diary.”

“I asked for renovation of the surface of a dining table which had been treated badly, with resulting scratches, deep score marks, and unsightly white heat bloom under the surface. Various finishes were discussed, and without any pressure I took the advice that french polishing may not prove very durable, and we agreed on polyeurethane finish. The table was collected very promptly at the agreed time and date, along with its spare leaf, and the job finished within the agreed time, with the addition of one working day to allow for necessary drying of the finish. The result of removing the unsightly marks and damage, including minor repairs, is very satisfactory. I am pleased with the result. The negotiation was courteous. The care taken in removing my furniture and then returning it was very noticeable and encouraging. And it shows in the result, with a very reasonable price. Highly recommended for conscientious and professional work.”
