“Start to finish, Bill, Courtney and team were exceptional. They guided us through every step of the design and build process, made the experience smooth and enjoyable and made our dream come to life. This firm was highly recommended to us and I’m so happy we found them. Our house turned out better than our wildest dreams and I very much credit it to these architects. I would recommend them to anyone looking to build.”

“Eugene Sakai stood out far above the pack of the 5 Architectural firms that we investigated to do our total house construction. He was simply the best to deal with, very professional, on time, and took a personal interest in the project, and within budget. We moved in 2 years ago and still love him and the contractor, C.W. Wright in San Carlos. We are pleased to show the house through Eugene Sakai at any time.”

“This was a residential renovation of and addition to an older house with good bones that had not been well maintained and had been subjected to several DIY projects that appeared to be beyond the capabilities of those who did them. Kurt's design solutions both suited our taste and were consistent with the original style and design of the house. In particular, he suggested a limited number of minor touches (pass throughs, moving a dividing wall) that quite cost effectively opened up the house and made it much more livable, but also was true to its original design and incorporated its positive features. His design of the new and expand master suite used existing elements to create a vastly improved layout. Kurt offered solutions that enabled us to obtain quick permitting. He supervised construction which was significantly closer to budget and on schedule than other neighborhood projects. He was very responsive when field conditions required adaptations to original plans, and devised solutions that kept costs increases of the project reasonable. He was a pleasure to work with and made what is often a very stressful process a very positive experience.”

“I was introduced to Bess through a previous Designer I worked with who was retiring her business. She felt Bess would be a good fit for me and my job, and I knew from our first meeting she was right. Bess and her Studio 3 team came on the job when we completed the basic house conceptual plan. Her input and ideas only further enhanced the function of the floor plan. As well, her knowledge, expertise and practical approach has been so valuable especially as this is my first major house remodel. I have quickly found how easy it is to keep expanding the plan as well as the budget! She does a great job keeping me on track and realistic, which my husband appreciates! Bess has guided us through our Phase 1 of the crazy permit process for an in law quarters and is now assisting with our phase 2, the rest of the house., all the while setting expectations of how to work with the city. She is also great when working with your personal choice of contractors, although she provides her own top notch referrals. Her team is friendly and responsive. We still have a ways to go, but she is willing to work with you on what services you need in regards to your budget, which I appreciate. I've been in Real Estate for 13 years, and one thing I've learned is when you find great vendors, partner with them, keep using them and refer them! I've referred Studio 3 to two people / clients with different styles and both have been thrilled to work with her. I would highly recommend you give Studio 3 and Bess a call for your next large or smaller project!”

“Larry Golden worked with us to redesign a space from a 4 car garage to a one car garage, laundry room, family room, bathroom, and bedroom. His design reflected our needs as well as the design constraints of the site and Santa Cruz planning board.”

“Laxmi, helped us to think about our needs when we were considering getting our landscaping done. Prioritizing our needs has proved very helpful. The backyard is utilized well. The design looks pleasing to eye and even though we have kept some decent amount of paver stones (saves water) it does not look harsh. Overall it we are extremely pleased with the results!”

“We had the pleasure of working with Adam Mayer of Studio AMA on a full renovation for my childhood home in Palo Alto. As both architect and designer, Adam was tasked with modernizing the home while still honoring its core structure and spirit. Adam truly works in the spirit of collaboration. We never felt pressured or pushed into a style or aesthetic choice that wasn’t our own. It’s clear that Adam prioritizes the client’s vision, which is not always the case with other designers. From a logistical perspective, Adam is easy to reach and responsive. His attention to detail and research made the permitting process a breeze. He also stepped up to the plate on our behalf when our contractor tried to drop a key part of our architectural plan (which was already approved by a structural engineer and the city.) Many of Adam’s suggestions completely transformed our house into a space that is bright, airy, and spacious, while also being functional and family-friendly. We are so happy with our beautiful new home and have nothing but good things to say about working with Adam.”
