“Ian Roberts designed and built our new home for us and we are beyond thrilled with it! Not only was it amazing to work with one person from the very beginning right through to the end, but Ian's eye for detail resulted in a gorgeous and comfortable home. The project was virtually stress free for us as Ian oversaw every aspect. My husband and I described our dream house to Ian and he came through for us from concept to completion. Ian finished on time and on budget which seemed contrary to what everyone told us when we began the endeavor. We highly recommend Ian Roberts and Flashhouse and would not think twice about working with him again in the future!”

“I am a retired Interior Designer and wanted to work with an architect who was up on the latest improvements in HVAC and plumbing. I had a pretty clear idea of the layout of our new house but needed help deciding on a contractor to hire as well as some creative structural details to make our 1800 sq. ft. single level home work for us as we age without looking like an "old folks home". Haven Design was instrumental in helping us select a contractor and we have been very pleased with the results.”

He very diplomatically manages to interact with all parties involved in the complex construction process whilst keeping a rational eye on budget . We are extremely happy with the custom home he designed for us after a thorough information gathering process. We can honestly say we have absolutely no regrets, and can highly recommend him.”

“Having built two homes before, we were impressed with what Step One Design had to offer and commissioned Mike to draw up the plans for our current home. Mike arranged to meet with us at our lot, listened to our ideas and offered feedback and suggestions to come up with a plan that fit us perfectly based on our wants and needs. He was accessible, easy to communicate with and provided the plans on schedule. Step one Design brought together our vision while paying attention to practicality, finances and the aesthetics of the home. We were extremely happy with Mike’s work, would use his professional expertise again and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.”

“Fish House Designs worked closely with us to design an extensive renovation to the 900 square foot main floor of our house on Quadra Island. Pamela Goijberg of Fish House listened to our initial ideas, added a number of additional suggestions, and then incorporated our preferences into a beautiful and functional floor plan. Throughout our collaboration with her, Pamela was thoughtful and very accommodating, and had a cheerful disposition at all times, making our planning with her both productive and enjoyable.”

“Pearl Schaar and David Pelletier provided us with a great experience from the initial top-level planning through the engineering review of our 4000+sq. ft. waterfront home on Camano Island. We worked together as a team, sometimes through a careful and deliberate process, other times through brainstorming and thinking out of the box to accomplish our end goals for our home. They guided and took direction from us as well. In retrospect, I believe the primary impact they had in providing the house we wanted was the education they provided regarding natural materials and flow. We learned and gained in the process.”

“We would highly recommend Stig Carlson as an architect for your project because he listens to our ideas, he understands that this will be our home, not just his design. Stig has the unique ability to diffuse a situation where the individuals disagree on a particular issue, to move beyond this point until the two have had an opportunity to discuss their views and then later he will remember to readdress this issue. Stig manages to keep the project moving forward when dealing with county officials who give vague guidelines by requesting specific details of what they will and will not accept. He is an effective advocate for your project and provides an excellent set of drawings for you and your builder to help eliminate unexpected costly and time consuming change orders His kind and gentle manner is well suited for any client, yet strength and knowledge arm him for county regulatory rhetoric. We are most pleased with our soon to be built home. Sharon Vaughn and Bruce Porter”
