“We interviewed several firms for our 3-story home addition. We chose Nugent for a few reasons. One, they don't beat around the bush. They are honest and work hard to stay within budget. In fact, we have several meetings before any type decision was made or money was exchanged to be sure the project could be done to both parties satisfaction. Two, as a design/build firm, it was so much easier to keep track of who is in charge of what and where accountability is. There's only one person managing your project... so it is super easy with Nugent to get answers and attention. Three, Alex, Nick, John and the entire Nugent team are so patient and talk to homeowners like equals. There weren't any terms that were over my head, and the design team was so good about walking us through every little step so that we were comfortable. Four, they got the job done on time and within the timeframe they quoted us for. These guys really know what they are doing. I can't wait to build my next house with them!
I will say that Nugent is not the cheapest design build firm. But their craftsmanship is great, and they stand by their work. We look forward to our one-year check in with them!”

“We had Mr. Tucker design a ground floor master suite addition of about 800 sq. ft. to our about 1800 sq. ft. 2 story abode comprised of a large walk in closet, a commodious master bath, and a large bedroom with integral sitting area. The addition of a hall way to connect the addition to the balance of the house had the beneficial effect of adding a breakfast "nook" to our previously renovated kitchen and a third informal "owner's" entrance to the house. One of the important design goals was to preserve my wife's ability to observe and enjoy the park like back yard/garden and the birds therein from the kitchen and the bedroom. Another goal was that the addition not appear to be just a box stuck onto the side of the existing house. The main design criteria was to provide a ground floor living environment so we can maintain our independent living arrangement to the end. Bill's design hit he mark on all accounts and we are thoroughly satisfied with it and quite comfortable in it. The neighbors and drive bys have all been quite complementary, also.”

“I contacted Laura about helping us determine if our 105 year old row house could handle a rooftop garden. Because older homes used different building methods, often without today’s building codes as reference, there was no easy way to easily tell if this could work. Laura knew the right person to contact and brought in an expert engineer to assess the situation. Both he and Laura concluded that the roof would have to be completely rebuilt in order to start the project. This was more than we had planned. In the process, however, we were able to locate the best area to create an interior access to the roof, which it presently does not have. You can image getting the AC on the roof serviced is quite a pain.
From the beginning of the project, Laura was extremely professional, patient and accommodating. She knew the right questions to ask and answered all our questions thoroughly. It was such a relief to have an experienced architect managing the project and communicating all the details throughout. Most importantly, Laura helped us make a major decision with confidence. She saved us countless of dollars, time and probably nightmares had we selected someone less knowledgeable.
Although we won’t get to enjoy her state-of-the-art, architectural designs for our rooftop garden as I had envisioned, I’ll enjoy recommending her services to clients and friends. Maybe she can build one for them that we can enjoy.”
