He knows his stuff so we got through Council quickly, which isn't typical of a strawbale development application in the Blue Mountains. The home that we have built together is beautiful, practical and comfortable. Jaime has project managed for us and we have stayed within budget. There has been a lot to handle and throughout the build Jaime has been a great communicator. He has often suggested alternatives that made our home more comfortable, practical, environmentally appropriate or more economical to build and we are so grateful for that. “Ross Young designed our two storey extension - garage below, bedroom ensuite and walk in wardrobe above. I can thoroughly recommend Ross's work. I have an 1920s very basic timber cottage built originally as a kiosk and refreshment place with only minimal residence capacity. We were keen to not overawe or clash with this existing historical if modest little house, nor to impose on the neighbour's sun. Ross's extension is both sympathetic and marries so well with the old building while at the same time it is practical and beautiful with clean, elegant lines. He is very easy to work with and is a very good listener so the result is a very pleasing creation which is also incorporates all the things we needed for living. The extended house sits beautifully in the streetscape and as there is a park across the road we were mindful of not imposing too much on the landscape. Finally, we are in a flame zone area and Ross is very good are negotiating with the council which helped enormously. I am thrilled with the resulting building!”

The project we are working on is a 'dynamic' site with design and construction running in parallel to achieve a fast tracked outcome. This is not something I would entrust many Architect to. Jason is methodical, articulate and will always ask the question and not make assumptions.
I required a team that had a strong design influence coupled with a solid understanding of structural and construction integrity to ensure the best outcomes for all aspects of the build, from the correct distances in kitchen layout to adequate bulkhead width to allow for efficient air flow from Air Conditioning.
I would recommend Jason for any task relating to architectural design and the roll out of the project.

“We could not have been happier with the home that Keith and Trudi from Form Follows Function designed for us. Our house was demolished and completely rebuilt and we employed Keith at the very outset of the project . Keith managed the entire project including multiple rounds of designs, working with a difficult local council and managing their many compliance requirements, tendering and selection of a builder and then management of the detail of the build throughout the project. At all times Keith was calm, thorough and he really made the whole experience easy for us.
While Keith and Trudi were really great to work, I guess the most important part of any home build is that you are happy with the final product. ... And we are.. The home we have ended up with is amazing to live in! The spaces are great, the light throughout is amazing, the finishes are spot on and people constantly comment on the quality of the the build and finishes. The design is very clever and makes for a family home that is cosy when you want it to be but can accommodate hoards of kids and family effortlessly.... and it is a great looking house!
Having heard a lot of horror stories about clients sacking architects part way through a build because everyone disagrees - we could not have had a smoother ride! I would absolutely recommend From Follows Function - both for the experience of working with Keith and Trudi and for the wonderful homes they create!”
