We wanted the new house to capture the spirit of the traditional Alpine Haus put on our lot in the late 1960's, but with the quality construction, updated features, and more comfortable living that a new home could provide. Throughout the construction process, he made himself available to talk with our contractor and visit the construction site multiple times to clarify the plans and answer questions. “We came to Brent with some pretty specific ideas but no understanding of how to put it all together to make a house! Brent was patient and guided us through the project and along with his associate James, helped bring our vision to reality. I'm not very good at envisioning a 3-dimensional project such as a house but Brent and James were able to create computer plans where we could remove walls, walk through rooms and alter roofing. He also very expertly guided our project through the historic review process and managed to get approval while we were in the midst of selling our home in PA and weren't really able to participate. His sense of humor and ability to work with our builder and the Historic Resources Commission has resulted in an almost-finished beautiful home!”

Mr. Griffin is a well known and respected Asheville architect and designer, very knowledgeable and capable. He is experienced with both multi-million dollar homes and modest homes such as ours. One of the many things that impressed us was Mr. griffin's gracious attitude. Our home was shown the same attention and care as would be given a much larger project. He was consistently respectful and considerate, taking into account our personalities, lifestyle and the pets who share (and sometimes rule!) our home. Our house is eleven years old, and I could never get the interior "right". I knew we needed a lot of help. I had no idea how to bring my vision to life, or even what my vision was. We only had one piece of furniture, bought eleven years ago, that I still liked. I showed Mr. Griffin that piece and said that I wanted the rest of the house to have that modern look and feel. Mr. Griffin was able to see specifically what we needed for TV and pottery, along with a very striking area rug, furniture and art, all designed for our home. And designed with us; we always felt part of the project, our needs always top priority. Fireside Antiques designed beautiful draperies and other soft goods. Almost as important, this creative designer managed to make the project fun! We can honestly say it really was a fun project with a great outcome. We could not be more pleased. Pics are included.
