“After finding him on Yelp with good reviews, we had BVM design a 655 sq. ft. residence that incorporated a pre existing building. He was responsive to emails and calls and gave us a surprising number of designs. He was able to give us exactly what we wanted, despite our ideas being communicated rather poorly over the many many interruptions of small children. It was not cheap, but I don't really know what others charge. Also, when our general contractor saw the plans he said "boy, this guy knows how to draw!!" Overall, he was really easy to work with, gave us exactly what we wanted, and impressed other professionals in his field. What more could you want??”

“I recently had the opportunity to work with Kevin on the transformation / renovation a 1985 built home - into a new contemporary dream home. It was a very challenging project! There was multiple new rooflines added, 3 new decks, a new front entrance, a cantilevered floor section, and a complete exterior alteration. The original home is unrecognizable. Kevin came highly recommended, and he's been an integral part of this project. Kevin was able to easily navigate through various ideas, and found very clever ways of adding all these onto the final plans. Impressive is his professionalism and quality workmanship. She took the time to truly understand what we wanted and made our vision a reality. From beginning until the end, she has been very professional, responsive, proactive, and being able to come up with multiple solutions to simple and complex problems we encountered during construction. Their design elements are so elegant and well matched with our concept that exceeded my expectations in many ways. Also, they did all those within the budget requirements. They were flexible in all the areas we worked. She made everything so easy and smooth. I do not even want to imagine what would happen if we have taken another route instead of working with her.”

“We worked with Kim to restore our 1920s Craftsman home in North Park. After interviewing several other architects, we knew with 100% certainty that Kim would be the perfect fit for our project. Not only did she come up with design and layout insights that we never would have thought of, she provided thoughtful, respectful and determined guidance throughout the project. She helped in every way possible... including the eventual Mills Act designation we received for the house. My husband and I are both very demanding, and high maintenance, clients, and Kim was able to keep us happy and content at all times. She's got an incredible relationships with contractors, builders and city officials. She's just the best... PERIOD. If I could give her 10 stars, I would!”

“Architects Magnus provided architectural services in connection with the ground-up construction of an approximately 3,500 sq. ft. home in San Diego, CA. The husband and wife team of Hector and Pam Magnus provided excellent insight, progressive design and demeanor throughout the project. They worked well with city officials and construction professionals in order to effectively and efficiently work through various issues. They met all design related deadlines and completed their services within the budget. Their considerable experience and knowledge was invaluable when it came to the implementation of a custom design with the maximum use of conventional construction techniques that were more cost effective than custom fabrication alternatives. Some examples include the use of stucco without color additives in order to mimic poured-in-place concrete and the use of an inexpensive torch-down roof membrane so that more of the roofing budget could be used for an inlaid tongue and groove ceiling made from sustainably grown hardwoods. This balanced approach between design and construction allowed us to maximize our budget by emphasizing those components of the home that give us the most enjoyment. Perhaps most importantly, Hector and Pam understand people. They challenged our notions of what our home could be in a manner that gained our trust and allowed for a far more dynamic and interesting living environment than we otherwise would have had. The end result far exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Hector and Pam, the house, affectionately known as the “Jewell Box”, is not just a custom floor plan, but truly a custom home with unique elements designed to make the most of our living environment within the confines of applicable building codes, coastal commission requirements and our budget. We love living in the Jewell Box that Architects Magnus envisioned for us.”

“We were very fortunate to find Teta Architecture and meet Allan and Amato Teta. We wanted to find an archtitect who would listen to our vision and who had the ability to translate our "dream" into reality and still maintain a targeted budget. Teta Architecture did that for us and more. Allan has great listening skills and he exceeded our expectations when he begin to "draw" our dream house. It was very exciting to meet with him during the conceptual period and see our home evolve exactly like we hoped it would. His drawing ability and his knowledge of architectural styles was a real joy to observe. Our goal was a "Hawaiian Style" home and he really nailed it for us. His father Amato was also instrumental in keeping us on track to meet our budget through "value" engineering during our design phase. His architecture and construction background was invaluable. The results were a home that was better than we envisioned at a cost to build that fell right into our targeted budget. Allan Teta is not only a great architect but a great guy! It was so nice to work with a man with passion for his architecture, but it was his concern for what we hoped to achieve in the home that made the process so easy and effortless. I cannot imagine a better experience and outcome. I think our pictures will show the story!”
