“Mr. Dunsmore was very instrumental in the design and build of our home in Baldwinsville, NY. We decided to have Dave draw up the plans to build our dream home after talking to many professionals. We gave Dave a list of our ideas, a basic plan we found on the internet and he put together a set of plans that that went above and beyond anything we dreamed of. “I hired KBN in 2019 to manage the renovation of our 3 Bedroom apartment and couldn’t have been happier. KBN guided me through every step of the process and provided great professional advice and was always available to me to answer questions. KBN handled each step of the process in perfect timely manner and professionalism. KBN also managed the architectural design for our renovation, came up with some wonderful suggestions regarding the layout and design and was extremely flexible with some changes mid-project that we requested. Thanks to KBN, our renovation project went without any issue. All in all, my experience with KBN was superb and I can’t recommend their services enough.”

“Working with Jimmy Crisp and his associates was a great and valuable learning experience that could not have turned out better than it did. Jimmy truly met, and in many instances, went beyond our expectations. The project, which was a complete gut renovation, went very smoothly and it did come in on budget with the exception of new items that were included after our original quote. Of course there were differences of opinions and long discussions about changes/desired outcomes and new costs, however, I would say that because of Jimmy's constant presence at the site, complete knowledge of exactly what was suppose to happen at all stages of the project and calm manner we escaped situations that could, at the time, have been less satisfactory. Jimmy, the associates and clerical employees of his firm are all a 10 in my book! My experience with Crisp Architects makes me believe that anyone seeking a great architect, backed by a most professional staff, could not do better than to choose Crisp Architects.”

“From our first meeting, it was clear that Jim would put his all into our job. Throughout a long design and build time frame he never flagged. I'm sure we weren't the easiest clients--- lots of opinions, evolving needs, impatient with delays, heavily involved. His good humor and steady guidance under pressure were greatly appreciated. Renovating any 120 year old building is full of surprises--- our project certainly had its share of twists and turns. JIm anticipated many potential problems and the issues he couldn't have seen coming, he handled admirably. One example— during he course of construction Jim discovered a potentially unsafe structural condition that could have cost a fortune to correct if the most obvious solution were pursued. Instead, he and his engineering team came up with a brilliantly simple alternate approach that corrected the irregularity for a marginal cost. Jim was able to work well with the tradesman, insisting on professionalism without getting into ego games, confident in his knowledge and still open to alternate solutions. He is thoroughly versed in the intricacies of the applicable building codes, skilled in the various crafts, resourceful and professional. What was most gratifying is that he clearly took a personal stake in the success of the project. Late hours, early mornings, many site visits and trips to the D.O.B.; without his dedication, we would not have the home we have today.”

“I live in Manhattan and have a country house in the Catskills upstate. The house is a contemporary design built in the mid 1970's. The "bones" were great but the aesthetic was completely wrong. We had Kimberly redesign the interior of the entire house - from moving electrical work, plumbing, windows and walls to choosing finishes and fixtures. She is amazing and I have referred her to many friends and clients. Next.... the apartment.”

“I thought that finding an honest contractor who follows through with what they promise would be impossible but decided to take the chance with Essential and finally do my first renovation. I was very nervous at first but the contractor Peter was extremely patient and was with me every step of the way. His team which included a talented designer put together a picture perfect kitchen, powder bathroom and master bedroom bathroom. I was blown away by the attention to detail and if you’re looking for a wonderful experience limiting your stress level for such a major project then Peter and his team are a great fit.”
