Both the process (of what he refers to as 'improvised architecture') and the final result far exceeded my expectations, creating one of the most space-efficient and aesthetically interesting apartments in northern Europe. The stunningly original design is an inspired and intelligent response to the specifics of the building, capturing light, function and an intangible quality of west Sweden landscape within the tiny space. The skillful use of ordinary materials renders them into a unique creative form; timber, metal, recycled objects and reused scrap are re-imagined into a contemporary whole. Closer to sculpture than architecture, the final result is both comfortable and inspiring to live in.”
